Is the Focus RS Mk3 reliable?

Is the Focus RS Mk3 reliable?

What BHP is the Mk3 RS?

By Benj. (Australia). Hi, I have an old mark1 with an engine. When I got it the rear brake drum seemed to be loose, and I could pull the disc but it would come away from the backing plate. They said that could be caused by rust and it would most likely require replacing the wheel. I don't know if I want to do this to the Mk3 however and was hoping that maybe BHP could help me.

What is your knowledge of these cars? I do have a car manual so I can look through that if necessary. BHP Member. Replies: Posted by Benj on 5th August 2024. Hello Benj. I don't know much about the M3 as I've only owned the VHG. Is it an RS, or did you buy the M4 kit with it? As for brakes, depending on how bad the issue is and the location. It is quite a good chance to have it replaced for relatively little cost. What I would recommend is speaking to another member in your area who has gone through a similar process on there car. This could work even better as they will be familiar with this process as they may have a different kit than what you have been dealt with. They could then be able to show you some pictures of the kits etc.

If this is a cheap car which requires a large portion of cash, you may want to wait a bit until you have saved up a bigger amount of cash than if you were planning to replace it right now for the same amount. You are also going to want to get to that dealer as soon as possible and have this done. At this point it could all be stopped, making it easier.

Have a look at other posts to learn more. Good luck.

How much is a Ford Focus RS Mk3?

We have a list of prices and specs for you to check out. You can see our full review of the new Focus RS Mk3 here.

Focus RS Mk3 prices have been revealed and we've got them all for you. There's one on the left for the 29,450 OTR spec, one in the middle for the 35,300 spec and a 40,500 spec.

Ford has revealed the new Ford Focus RS Mk3 - the latest evolution of the hot hatch. We've driven the base spec car and taken a closer look at the 29,450 OTR spec car.

The Ford Focus RS Mk3 was officially revealed in March at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, it wasn't until May that the public were able to get their hands on the car.

The Ford Focus RS Mk3 - officially called the 2024 Ford Focus RS. You'll be able to purchase the car from a dealership from July. Our review of the base model is available to read in full here.

The Ford Focus RS Mk3 is powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 engine which features two valves per cylinder. It produces a claimed maximum power output of 376bhp and a torque figure of 517lb ft. The new engine sits in a newly designed chassis which features a set of larger diameter rear tyres.

The 2024 Ford Focus RS is priced from 29,450 OTR. However, don't expect the price to be in line with the previous Focus RS. The entry level spec costs a little more than the previous model at 34,350.

We've tested the 2024 Ford Focus RS Mk3 with the three different engine options. The 1.6-litre turbo-petrol model will cost 23,200 OTR. It's also available in the form of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. It's priced from 23,550 OTR and comes with a front-wheel drive option.

A manual transmission is available for the manual gearbox.6-litre turbo-petrol also features a five-speed gearbox.

It's the same engine that powers the Jaguar F-Type SVR.

How many Focus RS Mk3 were made?

(or if a Mk2 in the US?)

The original Focus is a British car. I'm assuming you mean the Mk4? There is no official number, but it's about 30,000 units. There are about 8 variants made (Mk1, Mk2a,b and c, Mk3) that share some differences but do look similar. Focus has been very popular in Europe, so it probably makes sense that it was the first model exported to America. Ford didn't sell as many as they wanted. For that, they had to wait for the second.

The only official number that can be given is that the Focus III sold 40,000 units in the US and Canada in the 1990s, making it one of the top sellers back then. It was also the most well-reviewed model in that time frame, and in the US, it has remained a staple of the market for small Fords despite strong competition from the Honda Civic and Mazda Protege, and some models like the Mazda 6 that took some elements from Ford.

In recent times, the Focus was redesigned. We got an extremely important facelift version and it sold better than before, but it was discontinued too quickly. That car is now called Focus RS, but it seems it has been replaced by the hatchback one, as it is not shown anywhere on the site and this new edition was all we saw for a long time.

For the new model, as it is sold outside of Europe, there will never be an official number of units made. So it could be possible that Focus RS sold more units in Europe than the original Focus and Focus RS II combined. Or not. It has been reported about Focus RS 3 or something along these lines, so we'll have to wait for more info.

Focus RS Mk4 has different front bumper and a wider arches, I have seen a video saying Focus RS Mk3 with the old front bumper with the red paint can be bought in the UK, it looks good together with the white interior and dark grey/black stripes around the wheel. ? (or if a Mk2 in the US?

Is the Focus RS Mk3 reliable?

While the Mk2 was available in both the six-cylinder Focus RS, as well as the RS3-derived T6, the Mk3 is only available in the former. The Mk3 brings a number of upgrades, including a new powertrain that comes with standard 1.0-liter direct injection turbocharged EcoBoost engine, as well as standard active exhaust that improves engine note. Ford hasn't said when the Mk3 Focus RS will be released, but we expect it to be in early 2024.

We recently had the chance to drive the Mk3 Focus RS. We got behind the wheel of a 2024 model with an automatic transmission. For our review of the Mk3 Focus RS, we drove the base car, but would recommend checking out our Drive article on the upgraded RS3 model. It's quite a bit quicker and features an even more powerful engine.

The Focus RS Mk3 is good looking. The bumpers and front fascia, as well as the rear bumper, are covered in black plastic, but have been modified to give the appearance of a high-performance car. The wheels are a bit understated, but are also functional. They are also wrapped in white-colored Yokohama Avid Pro Advan tires.

There's a little of everything in the cabin. Even with the seat option for the driver that extends the seat cushion by 13.5 inches, there's still just enough room for two adults to sit comfortably. The front seats are in all-black leather with a few red accents, while the rear seats feature suede-like material. Buttons and knobs look like they're in the right place, but there are just enough to clutter things up a bit. The center console is home to the climate control unit.

The car is also fairly quiet inside. The turbocharger isn't as loud as a naturally aspirated V-6 engine, but it's not entirely smooth either. A few of the exhaust notes, which are fairly strong, will likely wake up anyone nearby.

The Mk3 Focus RS doesn't need any major changes to be good. That said, the new powertrain is one of the big changes. The car is equipped with a standard 1.
