Does Airstream make a camper van?

Does Airstream make a camper van?

Does Airstream still make a motorhome?

Airstream still makes a motorhome? I have read and heard many conflicting stories about Airstream still making motorhomes. I have purchased a "new" Airstream in 2024 and I had it towed behind my Jeep to be shipped to me at an outdoor storage location. I had the RV dealer I purchased it from send a letter stating it had been damaged in transit and that was all she wrote on it. Now, I am wondering if I will be able to find parts for it or if it is completely scrapped.

I don't want to go through the hassel of taking it back to the dealer just to find out it is gone. Does anyone know how I can find out? Re: Airstream still makes a motorhome? You may be able to find your record in an online database maintained by a national trade organization, but I don't know about that. You'll have to check with the appropriate national organization. If you are a member of a local motorhome club, they will also be able to help.

I've been wondering the same thing! We purchased a 2024 model 2BR/2BA Airstream motor home with the option of a full kitchen. It was the very first model in our area that could be ordered with this option. When we took delivery it did not look brand new. We had a warranty claim for a rear suspension leak and a faulty power steering pump. Both were promptly repaired. When we returned home a few months later, we noticed that the air compressor was no longer bolted to the chassis. In addition, there were no straps or connectors holding the roof in place, only a simple ratchet strap that should have held the roof, and was loose. At that point I called the manufacturer.

Does Airstream make a camper van?

This is a discussion on ? within the Vintage Cars & Classics forums, part of the Team-BHP category; I've seen the R45s on the Airstream page. Anyone know if they are true camper vans? I am going to .

I've seen the R45s on the Airstream page. I am going to be buying my first RV, and was thinking about the R45 for simplicity's sake. But it's not listed as a camper on the Airstream site. Does it make a camper, and is there a difference between the two of them?

The R45 is a different model than the R-series. There was also a R46 which didn't have the slide-out. If it were me, I would save your money and go with the R-series. They have the same basic layout as the R45, but the frame is built differently. The R45/R46's are the only R-series w/ slide-outs I know of, but I'm not sure of any other models.

I bought an R40 in 2024 as a project. I took it down to Panama City Beach (Florida) and had it towed across the country to Oregon where I lived for six months before driving it back to Florida.

In case you didn't notice, there's a picture of it under the headline "Camper Van". Here's a closeup of the slide out. It opens from the back side. The "floor" is really just a plywood platform on casters. The opening is about 4' deep by 8' wide. You could put a sofa inside that and still have plenty of room for living.

As a camper van, it has its uses, but it's not my first choice. I have an older 30' Airstream travel trailer with a bedroom loft, bathroom, kitchen, sleeping area and a small loft. It's a lot more flexible and comfortable than the R40. If I need to go off the beaten path, the Airstream is the vehicle to use, not the R40.

And I can tell you the Airstream has several advantages over a motorhome. Airstream has been around for a long time.

Why are airstreams so expensive?

airstream campervan Why are airstreams so expensive?

It seems like you can get a decent used airstream on Craig's List or a classified ad on Backpage. Why is it so expensive to rent an airstream? The price of airbeds is pretty much determined by supply and demand. If you're a large market like the U.S., there's no shortage of airbeds, which means you can charge a premium. When were talking about getting an airstream for our family of 6, our biggest deciding factor was the price of airbeds. We needed them for 3 reasons:

We wanted something comfortable. We don't have kids, but we have pets (1 yorkie and 1 cat) so we needed something more comfortable than just sleeping in a tent.

We wanted something portable. We plan to take this journey as a family, so we needed something that we could all fit in one car, and something that wouldn't be too big.

We wanted something that could sleep 6 comfortably. That's enough money to feed our family for a week.

So, is it worth it to spend that kind of money on airbeds? It depends on how much you spend on camping gear, food, fuel, etc., but if you figure in the cost of airbeds, then it's not a good investment.

Now, if you live in a region where there's a shortage of airbeds, you'll have to pay a premium for airbeds, just like there's a shortage of certain vehicles and airbeds are priced accordingly.
