What years of Ford Focus to stay away from?
Are Mk2 focus reliable?
In my local market (UK) they were only offered to new customers with no other discounts for paying by direct debit. Was never able to confirm if this is just me or not. Does anyone here have experience of the mk2 focus's ability to reliably track moving objects? I have seen many posts about using the camera on moving objects and some say that they are great, others say that they are rubbish.
Has anyone had problems with using them as a regular tripod when they just aren't reliable enough to be used as a tripod? Thanks in advance. If you don't have a tripod, you can set it up on something that doesn't move much. For example, stick the ball head to the table and then tighten the screws. Then use the camera as a normal camera.
I'm also thinking of using a monopod. I've read that using one for video and then switching back to a tripod can be a bit of a pain. Can anyone confirm this?
Yes, it's a pain to switch back and forth. I suggest buying a second camera and attaching it to the monopod. It's called a camera sling and it's the best option.
If you're concerned about your camera bouncing around, you should practice using the monopod before going out into a field. I think I'm going to use a monopod as my main tripod as I don't think I could get any decent results with a slow shutter speed or hand-held shots at f/4 with my 24mm f/1.8.
I am still looking to upgrade to the mk2. Is there anything in particular that you'd advise over the mk1 version? The mk1 version is more or less a toy camera in comparison to the mk2. The mk2 has better build quality, a better LCD screen, much better low light performance, much better dynamic range, much better video, it has a much better battery and a much more capable processor. The mk1 doesn't have any of those things.
What years of Ford Focus to stay away from?
Hi all, I am looking into keeping my 02' focus and have narrowed it down to 1 year (2007) or 2026. My main concern with keeping this 2nd hand car is the amount of oil needed to maintain and the longevity of the engine. I really like the power it feels as it hits. I do not believe I could find a 2nd hand 2026' Focus because it's so common but I would have to travel across the country to find one (1 day). So I am starting my search with the 2002-2008 Focus model years. What models best meet my concerns?

Thanks. I have a 2026 Focus, and a very nice one at that. The thing you must consider with 2nd hand cars is you are going to be buying an old car. And there are lots of them on the market. It will take time to pick out the good ones. I've had an 06 and 07 Focus and if you know how to check out the tranny in your car, you will not have problems. A new 09 just had an oil change because they had an issue in 08 and 09, but all was good in 10. If you are concerned about mileage go with an older car.
My advice is find a '09 or newer first. They have a lower base, more hp, and more interior space. Look at the Ford or Hyundai line up.The new Focus will have the best interior in those brands, as well as engine power and reliability. You may be able to trade up to the bigger Ford or Hyundai, which will work better in a higher demand climate for selling/trading.
What engine is in the Mk2 Ford Focus?
Mk 2 Ford Focus engine. It has a 4 cylinder and is mated to a manual gearbox, It has a 5 speed gearbox but I don't know which one it is. Its the 1.6 petrol. Please can you tell me?
It has a 4 cyl engine, a single port fuel injection system and an auto clutch, the gearbox is a 5 speed gearchoice, as it has a twin plate clutch the same as a 4 cylinder car, but this vehicle is a 5 door hatchback, it may have 4 gears in the gearbox aswell, it doesnt have anything in the engine bay either, the engine is very small in size in order to give the best fuel efficiency when it comes to cars, the top speed is over 145 miles per hour. The engine is a 1. The gear box is a five speed. The torque is 110 Nm. The car weighs 1045kg. The top speed is 190km/h. 0-60 km/h is 12.3 seconds. 0-100 km/h is 16.2 seconds.
Which Ford Focus has the best engine?
What about the most attractive interior, the best safety features, and which Ford focus is the best overall car you can buy? Let's run the numbers.
Ford Focus (2003-2015) vs. Volkswagen Polo The Ford Focus may be a forgotten auto, but its combination of high utility and great value make it a strong contender to become the ultimate entry-level city car. Compared to Volkswagen's new Polo, which is cheaper, less fuel efficient, offers worse equipment, and has a lower resale value, the Ford Focus has an 11-point advantage in Consumer Reports' rankings of interior space, exterior styling, and safety. It also has a five-point advantage in reliability. It scores points for fuel economytwo to four miles per gallon less than the Polo in highway driving, four to six fewer mpg in mixed driving, and about the same in city driving. In contrast, the Ford Focus is 10 mpg better than the Polo when you drive aggressively. The Focus is still far more enjoyable to drive in town than the Polo, however. You could get some very good mileage from the Ford Focus. Its 1.0-liter base engine is EPA rated at 28 mpg highway and 40 mpg combined, while the 1.6-liter turbo is rated at 21 and 34 mpg. Although the 1.8-liter TDCi was rated at 22/35, Ford says it only drove the 1.8T around the Nurburgring.
Ford Focus (2003-2015) vs. Fiat Panda gets poor marks for reliability, handling, and crash protection. Consumer Reports rates it as the least safe large car sold in the United States, and it gets two dings in safety tests. The Panda has a 10-point deficit compared to the Focus in terms of both reliability and safety. It scores no points for looks or interior space. The 1.6-liter diesel's 27 mpg will have you in the city; only the turbocharged model delivers 29 mpg on the highway. But, the Fiat Panda does have more equipment: six airbags, side-curtain airbags, and a blind spot monitor, plus a backup camera and rear parking sensors. It also has a class-exclusive reverse camera system, and it comes with six air bags. And, it has a bigger and better cargo hold.
