What's the best year for the Ford Focus Mk4?

What's the best year for the Ford Focus Mk4?

What are bad years for Ford Focus to avoid?

Are there years when your Focus gets worse gas mileage compared to other years of your Focus? Here are two of the years that may have the worst fuel economy. I am not a car expert or mechanic. However, a friend of mine who does a lot of research and testing told me that these are some years of the vehicle that they do worse on gas mileage: 2.9L VVT engine (Zeta) - 1st through 4th months. 2010: 2026 VVT-3.2L, 2nd through 4th months. 2010: 2026 2.5L 1st through 4th months. 2011: 2.4L EcoBoost with Zetec VVT, 3rd through 5th months.

What do you think? Are these bad years? Why or why not The problem I had was that they all started to sputter during the time I owned the car, and the first time it stalled on the side of the road, I thought "what the." and I did all of the work myself. I guess because I was having issues, I was unable to notice any of the problems. And it was too late to get it repaired in time for the following month's payment.

Good question. I was wondering if they started to sputter on the highway, maybe the transmission and rear end went out of sync. Also, did you have to manually shift it through gear changes? There was a recall of the same problem in 2026 which caused a lot of Focus owners to have problems with their vehicle's computer. My brother-in-law had the recall and his car died on him. Luckily, a new transmission was installed which fixed the problem. He went for a long test drive and the computer came back working just fine. I wonder if they had to replace the computer.

I didn't drive the car over 55 (yes, I was still getting a paycheck.) and at highway speeds, the gas mileage would be terrible. We would take a toll road to visit my parents in Texas.

Is the Ford Focus Mk4 a good car?

Ford's new, smaller and cheaper Mk4 Focus has a little more than two months to go before it goes on sale in the UK, but we've been driving it all week. This is our first drive of a production car with the latest, most advanced driver assistance systems - like the ones that could let you cruise blindfolded down the motorway at 85mph. We were also one of the first to test out Ford's new 10-speed automatic gearbox, which has been designed to cope with revving around a track and can also be used on the road. And we've seen the new Focus as an estate and a coupe, in both black and white. So, is it time to make your mind up about the second coming of the car that changed motoring?

How does it stack up? The new Mk4 Focus is a big step up from its predecessor. It's longer, lighter, wider and taller, but it has a lower kerb weight, a 1.1-litre diesel engine and a smaller and more fuel-efficient 1.0-litre petrol engine. There are styling tweaks too, a new six-speaker sound system and a digital radio that's compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It's not only more spacious inside but it's quieter, too. The interior refinement is noticeable, and the quality of materials is impressive. The seats are excellent, and the space in the front and rear is roomy and well lit. The dashboard layout is logical and the touchscreen infotainment system works seamlessly with the optional FordPass Connect features.

But the biggest news is that the Focus is Ford's first family car with all-electric fast charging. There are three charging points in the boot, which will give you a full charge in 20 minutes. The charging cables are stored in the boot tray, so you don't need to remember to carry them with you when you get out. The Focus Electric will be available for 36,780, which is 700 cheaper than the 38,780 for the standard Focus ST. But it's the smallest of the three electric cars available in the UK - the battery capacity is only 18kWh, which is less than the standard Focus Electric's 39kWh.

What's the best year for the Ford Focus Mk4?

A reader recently asked us what the best year for the Mk4 Focus is and whether it's worth buying new. We have no idea why he's asking, because this is an old Focus. It's not even close to being a new model. We do know that he has a V6, so it's a mid-range car. So we took a look at the data to see which years are most popular.

First, we looked at the total number of Focuses sold. It's important to note that the figures include the previous Focus models as well as this current model.

So, based on our figures, the most popular year for the Focus is 2026, with 9,800 cars sold. This was a big year for the Focus with the arrival of the five door hatch and four door sedan. They went on sale in June and October respectively, and had a peak in popularity during the summer months when the hatch and sedan were new.

It's worth pointing out that although the Focus was one of the few vehicles to have a major upgrade in 2026 (the 1.5-litre petrol engine with the new direct injection), the main change that really pushed the sales needle was the five door hatch. It was the first time the Focus family had been extended from three to five doors and it's safe to say the public loved it.

If you can't remember what the five door hatch looked like, here's a picture: To give some perspective on the numbers of cars sold for each model, we took the figure for 2026 and divided it by the figure for the same year in 2026. We then looked at the percentage change in the total number of cars sold over a year, dividing the change by the total number of cars sold for the year. The result is quite surprising! Based on our figures, the only cars to see a significant rise in sales over a year were the five door hatch and four door sedan. Other than that, there was a drop in sales.

So what's the difference between those two cars? Let's take a look at the figures: The five door hatch saw a 6.7% increase in sales, but the four door sedan saw a drop of 18.8%.

What mods can you do to a Ford Focus?

I have owned my 1992 Ford Focus SVT (no turbo, no 3.0 V6, no LSD) for 5 months now and am looking to do some custom mods. I'm looking into making a power pipe system to increase the size of the system. My questions are: can you just go out and buy a pipe system (that is not expensive) that will work with a focus engine? Does a modded foci make more power than a stock one? Will it make the engine inoperable (like an injector) if I am not using an aftermarket header?

The focus comes with a factory intake but it isnt the best for increased hp as it is a single port and will only flow through the lower section of the manifold. You can buy aftermarket intakes that are more efficient but i'm sure they will cost quite a bit more than a pipe system. I would just do the pipes as theyre much less work than a new manifold and exhaust.

I don't think the focus has a single port on it at all. What focus is this you speak of? Quote: Originally Posted by Rodeo. I've never owned one. I've had my V6 for the past 1.
