Renault Twingo Renaultsport nearly gone

The popular city car the Renault Twingo Renaultsport is being retired from the UK market by their manufacturer, but not until after their release of the new Twingo Renaultsport 133 hot hatch.

First introduced to the UK automotive marketplace in the summer of 2007, the Renault Twingo Renaultsport has seen over 1,200 customers over it's five years of availability. But now Renault says the time has come to retire it's urban model, and to let the Twingo 'go' with a bang, have released a new hot hatch edition - but in incredibly scarce numbers!

At time of writing only six of the Twingo Renaultsport 133 hot hatches are available. Powered by 1.6 litre petrol engines offering 133 bhp, and coming with a choice of 16 inch or 17 inch alloy wheels, the vehicle weighs a featherlight 1,050kg. The front of the vehicle comes kitted out with sport seats, and the rear features an exclusively-designed exhaust and rear spoiler. For those thinking of taking their new purchase around the track, as part of the Twingo's instruments you will see the Renaultsport Monitor to track lap times.

It has not yet been unveiled when the Twingo RS 133 will be replaced, but it has been speculated that a V6-powered 320 bhp replacement is on the cards, featuring a gearbox with a dual clutch.
