How much power can a stock Focus ST engine handle?

How much power can a stock Focus ST engine handle?

Is it worth remapping a Focus ST diesel?

I'm debating about remapping the Focus ST to take the stock turbos to the tune of 500 hp. So far, I'm leaning towards "yes". I'll probably order one from my local shop so I can do it myself but just looking for a few more opinions. The only reason I would want it as high as 500 is for the weight of the vehicle and not because I really need the power. I don't even own a Focus sedan. The only thing I know about the ST is it's lightest of all the models and one of the highest HP cars.

I did the mod and I would highly recommend it. That said, your question is more geared towards which tuning company. I use AEMs, but there are other tuners out there. I use JB Performance.

A little bit of background. About 20 years ago, my dad and I replaced all the engines on my dad's car in under 5 hours. We were in an automotive shop. Back then, there was an old guy who also did cars and had the most amazing work in a very quick time, with a reputation. He's still around, but doesn't work there anymore.

I've been searching his name since then and I could never find his name. So I asked a guy at my shop and they said they did it at this shop that still does cars. If you're in my area and looking, you'd know which shop it is. It's the "Auto Body and Paint" place. They changed the entire exhaust system, brakes, tires, suspension, everything. I had to go to another shop and have them order everything for me. The old man at "Auto Body and Paint" did all the work. They told me he worked for BMW, too, but I don't know if that's true.

Is the Focus ST diesel fast?

I have been told that the Focus is the fastest diesel and is the lightest car in it's class but I am skeptical. I have never driven any Focus (and have no experience with diesels) and am a realist when it comes to cars and fuel economy. I have a 2025 Ford Explorer with about 140K miles on it and would be interested in hearing what you all have to say about the Foci's.

The reason I ask is that I have heard that there was a diesel Focus RS and that the engine produced around 200 HP. What gives? I have the Z4/M3 but for my own reasons I am not interested in the 1.8t because of the engine size. If it is any where near 200 HP then that is way to much for me. In my opinion the diesel in the ST has enough power that is a real plus for me.

A diesel in the Focus ST is almost certainly not going to make as much power as a diesel in the Focus RS, especially not if the Focus RS uses the same engine. The 2.5L and 2.0L are totally different.5L diesel will likely make somewhere in the neighborhood of 120-140 hp. The 1.8T will more than likely only be around 110 hp or so. So the diesel version is barely going to have more power. It's basically a non-existant race version for the Focus ST. You are correct to say that it will use a 1.8 tdi, but that doesn't make it a 'fast' diesel. It's not even going to beat the 1.6ZF TDCi.e. It's also probably no better than the 1.6 with the same amount of power. That is, you could get a base 1.6 ST with 110 hp (likely not 110 wheel horsepower, but who's counting?) and the extra 35 pounds, and it's going to make close to exactly the same power as the ST with the diesel. The only difference is probably the 0-60 time.

All that being said, the ST's are still an interesting addition. They should appeal to people who prefer to drive like they're building a track car, but don't want to spend all the money and time that it takes to actually build one. If someone wants more power and more torque, they can go out and spend the money on a Focus RS.

Is the Ford Focus ST diesel reliable?

focus st tdci remap Is the Ford Focus ST diesel reliable?

The Focus ST is one of the most popular cars to drive for families. Whether you're a petrol head or you simply enjoy speed, there's a version of the Focus ST that suits your driving style. The diesel version comes with three engine options, and it looks like it could be a very attractive proposition to potential buyers.

Can you get reliable diesel power from the Ford Focus ST? Yes. Like its petrol counterpart, the Focus ST diesel is fitted with a turbocharged direct injection engine, and all the models come with a six-speed manual transmission. This is the same engine as is fitted in the Ford Fusion Energi, and with a maximum power output of 162kW, it's more powerful than the engine fitted in the Focus 2.0-litre petrol.

The Focus ST also comes with Stop/Start technology, and this means the engine will only start if it detects movement of the driver's foot, as well as when the engine is cold. This technology ensures that the engine doesn't start up until it's fully warmed up.

What do you need to know about the Focus ST diesel? All the Focus ST diesels come with the same power, although it can be specified as a manual, automatic or dual-clutch transmission. The Focus ST diesel also comes with electric front brakes, and the only other specification that is different is the air conditioning. It's worth mentioning that the Focus ST diesel has no manual gearbox option available.

The Ford Focus ST diesel is a family hatchback. This means it's big on practicality, with the ability to carry four passengers and their gear. The Ford Focus ST diesel also comes with large 21-inch alloy wheels, which look really nice on the black paintwork. In terms of space, the Focus ST diesel comes with a 1,760-litre boot, with space for up to 1,350 litres of fuel.

What's the difference between the Ford Focus ST diesel engines? There are three variants of the Ford Focus ST diesel. The first variant comes with two front seats and a rear bench seat. The second variant has three front seats, but also comes with a rear bench seat.

How much power can a stock Focus ST engine handle?

I'm interested in buying a Focus ST. The model I'm looking at has a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine. According to the seller, it can reach 150 miles per hour. Can it handle 150 miles per hour on a regular basis?

The 1.8L engine in the Focus ST is rated at 140 hp (104 kW) and 160 lb-ft (213 Nm) of torque. The top speed is about 180 mph (290 km/h), and it has a 0-60 time of 8.1 seconds.

How does this translate into mileage? Let's assume that you use the full 140 hp (104 kW) at all times, and cruise at 65 mph (105 km/h), which is the "normal" speed for a Focus ST. At those speeds, the EPA gives the car a combined city/highway rating of 28 mpg (18.5 L/100 km; 2.7 L/100 km). If you drive more aggressively, you'll be able to squeeze more out of the engine, but that will lower your fuel economy.

Thus, assuming the best case scenario for the car, you'll get 28 mpg (18.7 L/100 km).
