I was recently looking at the 1.0L EcoBoost engine in the 2026 Mustang GT, and I noticed that they are rated to be reliable. Does anybody know if this is true? I understand that it has a smaller displacement than the 5.0 L V8, but I don't know if the smaller displacement is what makes it more reliable.
The 5.0 V8 is rated to be a little more reliable (at least a little) than the 1.0 V6, as it has more displacement and power.
I've seen many times where the 1.0 V6 and 3.7 V6 have problems, and the 5.0 V8 and 6.0 V8 have no issues at all.

And a larger displacement will give you less internal friction, so less wear on the cylinder walls, which is good for reliability. But as stated earlier, I've seen plenty of cars with the 1.0 L EcoBoost that have had major problems with their engines, so I wouldn't get my hopes up on the 1.0L V8 has a larger displacement than the 1.0L, but less HP. So, the 1.0L EcoBoost is probably going to be more reliable.
I'm not sure how I feel about that statement. If you look at the dynos, you'll see that the 5.0L is a bit more than twice the displacement of the 1.0L, yet the 1.0L's peak power is a few hundred more hp than the 5. It's not like they're in the same league.
I have no idea what you are talking about. The 1.0L is not the "5." It's a 1.0L inline-4.

Is the Ford Focus ST line any good?
The Ford Focus ST is a bit of a polarising car. It's a fun, cheap and fuel-efficient little car that has a lot of potential to be fun to drive and that's all well and good. But, it's also a tiny little car with a tiny little engine.
So does it make sense as a replacement for your old Golf? If you're replacing your old Golf it makes more sense to get a base-model Golf with a bigger engine. If you're getting a Focus ST as a replacement for your old Golf, there's really no reason to get a Focus ST rather than a much cheaper Golf. It makes more sense to spend the money on a cheaper Golf than it does to spend it on a much more expensive Focus ST.
Is the Focus ST worth buying? Yes and no. Yes, because it is a fun little car that's pretty good on fuel and cheaper than a Golf. No, because it's a small car with a small engine. If you want a fun little car, go for it. But, you'll need to be prepared to enjoy it and get used to it being a little boring on a regular basis.
Is it a good hot hatch? We think so. The engine and gearbox combo is quite nice. It's very simple, very direct and the engine sounds great. It's not as loud as a Golf GTI, but it's not as quiet as a Golf GTI. It's much more fun to drive than a Golf GTI because it feels more like a hot hatch than a Golf. It's smaller, lighter and cheaper, too. The only down side is that, unlike a Golf, it won't be getting any more power for the next few years.
What about the interior? The interior is pretty nice, considering the size of the car and the price tag. It's roomy inside, it's easy to find the driver's seat, the radio works, the seats are comfortable and the dashboard is easy to read. There's some neat little touches, too, like the air vents in the rear headlight units. It's not as fun to drive as a Golf GTI, though. If you want a little more fun, look at the Golf GTI.

We've just seen the 2026 Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost but it's not a new car. It's actually a 2026 facelift based on the old model's platform that has been tweaked for 2026, but this is a very different Ford. The previous version was a car that did what you expected of it, but then stopped. Its new incarnation is all about energy and eco-friendliness.
Even if you're not bothered about fuel economy - I'm happy enough - the improvements are worth considering. The engines are all pretty efficient and more accessible than before. Even the 1.0-litre petrol engine, now up to 99bhp, is no slower than before. The 1.6 TDCi comes with both conventional port and direct injection, although neither will help fuel economy - these engines are turbocharged with four cylinders, so they run as long as they possibly can and are more frugal in doing so. That's because they have lower fuel-injection pressure. In fact, it's possible to get into the very efficient 1.6 TDi with a manual gearbox if you insist on having a traditional engine.
The most fuel-efficient of the current engines is the new 1.0-litre TDCi, which returns 82.8mpg combined. The rest of the petrol range runs around 55mpg, the diesel at 55. Even though the diesel 1.6 TDCi doesn't get the same power as before (it loses two cylinders) it still has higher power than before, and can now be fitted with dual-zone air con. And even though the 2.0 TDCi is bigger than before, it retains the same power output as before, and uses the same twin-scroll turbo as before. All versions of the petrol Focus can also be had with an automatic transmission.
The diesel versions are very similar to the old model.6 TDi offers good economy, but no extra refinement. Even the 2.0 TDi's engines are good, with the manual being the choice, while the auto remains largely unchanged from the old model.
There's no reason to switch from the old model, unless you really want a diesel.
