Infiniti crossover to be unveiled by Nissan
Set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year, Nissan is targeting the Q30 at a market typically limited to a select number of buyers. They are aiming their Q30 to stand shoulder to shoulder with similar offerings from BMW and Audi; the X1 and Q3 respectively.
The Nissan Q30 is due to be on the market in 2015, and along with it's big brother the Qashqai, which will be on it's next generation of tech, will be manufactured at the company's production facility in Sunderland. The Sunderland-produced Qashqai is already proving particularly popular with buyers, and Nissan are aiming to replicate this success with it's new Infiniti model.
The designer of the new Q30, Alfonso Albaisa, has likened the design of his new concept as akin to big cats such as cheetahs and leopards, being sleek and slender, though muscular underneath the looks. We just hope it won't come with whiskers too.
The president of Infiniti for Nissan, Johan de Nysschen, has mentioned that the Q30 is a preamble for a huge expansion in the company's selection of offerings. They are attempting to tempt a younger buyer with it's new model, whilst still keeping Infiniti's existing fan base.
The Q30 should be available in early 2015.
