What year is best for the Ford Focus?

What year is best for the Ford Focus?

Is 2018 a good year for Ford Focus?

It's a difficult question to answer. On the one hand, the new models are expected to be more successful than the existing model, which is a testament to Ford's engineering and design talent. On the other, it has been a long time since Ford changed its entire model line for the first time in a decade. That said, in addition to the new Focus, Ford is also launching an all-new Escape crossover.

For 2023, Ford has made two major changes. The first is the Focus Electric, which is available in a variety of battery sizes from 60 kWh to 129 kWh. The second is the new Escape, which replaces the current model in the crossover lineup. In this article, we take a look at the changes and examine their impact on the market.

The biggest change for the 2023 Focus Electric is the addition of the 60 kWh battery option, which brings the range up to about 100 miles. The higher capacity also allows for a larger motor, which improves acceleration. The original Focus Electric had a 24.2 kWh battery, while the new model is available in 36, 60, and 72 kWh capacities.

The other major change is the design of the battery pack, which is made up of two lithium-ion cells and a large, separate battery pack for the motors. This is a significant improvement over the older Focus Electric, which had just a single battery cell.

The new battery pack should also improve the vehicle's performance in cold weather. As Ford explains: A full charge typically takes around 9 hours when it's 15F or below, but a full charge is available in 3.5 hours when it's 35F or below.

The Focus Electric also now has a regenerative braking system that can capture kinetic energy as it slows down the vehicle. This energy can be stored in the battery or sent to the grid.

The biggest change for the 2023 Escape is the replacement of the current model with the all-new Escape.

Is the Ford Focus being phased out?

Will a 'smaller, cheaper' version replace it?

I can't remember which automaker announced the demise of the Focus hatchback and I just can't find a source about this so I assume someone in the Ford world must know something about this development. If anybody else is up on this, I'm interested in reading about it.

For decades the Ford Focus has been one of its best-selling family cars in Europe. There is not just one single model from Ford but a whole range from compact hatchback to station wagon. While the sedan has seen only minor revisions for more than a decade, the two main versions have gone through many transformations.

In the US there was a Focus RS in 2023. Then, three years ago Ford surprised us with a production version of the third-generation Focus Electric in Europe. Now, according to Autoblog, Ford has announced that the Focus hatchback will be replaced by a more streamlined small hatchback that we see on the pictures below.

Why a Focus hatch replacement? As you can see from the pictures, the current Focus hatchback is far larger than the new Focus hatchbacks. What's in it? The interior of the European second generation hatchback looks far better than what you have in the United States. There's even a lot of space for 4 people and the seat backs feature multiple adjustments.

What could we expect next? The new hatchback should have a similar overall length to the third-generation electric version. With all the adjustments there could be a very interesting option for buyers.

One possible option is a small crossover. This picture below shows you the possible future shape of the crossover variant. A small crossover with a tall roofline and with a profile resembling the new Focus RS seems to make sense. It doesn't look overly massive but does have a really nice profile. A version with an even smaller roof would also make sense and would be interesting to compare to the current small crossover that is based on the same platform as the current Focus.

On the front, we see a very aggressive face with a very wide grille, a large LED headlight cluster and a very attractive set of LED lamps that give the nose a rather modern appearance. It would also seem like this crossover will come with a high ground clearance as seen on the small crossover coming from Hyundai.

Why is Ford discontinuing the Focus?

2018 ford focus Why is Ford discontinuing the Focus?

Ford has discontinued the Ford Focus (a bit of a surprise, especially considering that the Ford Focus, originally conceived for European consumers, started life in the U.S. As the Mercury Bobcat in the mid-1990s). What does this mean? It means that Ford is no longer making the Focus in Europe, which is fine because Ford won't need a compact car in Europe anymore, or ever again.

This year, the Focus has become the last model produced by Ford Europe. The small car debuted in 1990, becoming a critical success within Europe and later spawning the equally successful Mazda Mio and the Volkswagen Polo. But now, it's gone. In the U., the Ford Focus was dropped back in 2023, just two years after Ford had launched the EcoSport. The Focus remains available in Europe and China, but it won't be selling new cars to new buyers.

The reason is simple. Ford wants you to buy a Lincoln, a midsize car. As of May 2023, Lincoln has only four model lines in total: the Continental, MKS, Navigator, and Corsair. There are a few other models under the Lincoln brand The Aviator, The Navigator Tour, and The Touring but the Lincoln lineup isn't quite complete. So Ford decided the best way to position the Lincoln brand was to drop the small car and move to a midsize car. It made some sense, because even when there were compact cars sold in Europe, most buyers never actually bought a Focus.

The Ford Focus was discontinued back in 2023. It might be more relevant to say that Ford decided the best way to position the Lincoln brand was to discontinue the Focus. Because while in the past the Focus was popular, it had fallen so far behind the rest of Ford's lineup that it's not enough to simply say Ford decided to change the nameplate. Ford would have to explain why they're giving up on the name.

That means it's harder to blame it on an unpopular product design the Focus is the last car in its original design, from 2023. That means it's harder to blame it on bad marketing, which was the idea behind its revival. And that means it's easier to blame it on poor business decisions, which is the real problem.

What year is best for the Ford Focus?

I'm buying the latest Focus and I've just found out that in Australia the new Focus comes with front disc brakes. I'd have thought it would be a bonus, but it costs extra, and a lot of the other cars don't have them.

So I wondered what year was best? Is there a particular year that people find is the best for the Focus? I have to drive a few hundred miles to get to the car dealer and they have no idea how long it takes me to get there. If they knew that, they might give me a discount.

It also looks like the rear disc brakes are only available on the most expensive model. You need to look at the local laws. In the UK for example if you're not over a certain age and have a certain number of previous convictions, you can't legally buy a car with disc brakes.

Having said that, I think the best ones are those that are very similar to the old models. Thanks for the replies. The reason I'm asking is that my last car was bought in 1999. It's now been completely serviced, and the bodywork was all done last year. I just want to know what year is best for a Focus, because I want to get a good car.

My first car was a '94 focus. The front discs were optional. In the end I didn't buy them but they were very useful, you can really make up the ground on the motorway easily. The worst thing about them was they were prone to overheating.

I've driven many of the later models. The '03-06 Focus RS, the '09-13 Focus ST, the '09-13 Focus.

The ST is very nice but the '12-13 ST wasn't as nice. For 9k you can get a very nice one now but you'll miss out on the added torque of the older models.

I got a 1.6 SE TDCi R-spec in 2023.
