When can you order a 2024 Ram 1500?
Is Ram 1500 getting redesigned?
The new Ram 1500 is coming soon but already images of the all-new truck have made its way to the web. The biggest changes? An updated Ram Box and a smaller engine. We took a look at the restyled Ram on the outside and the inside in our review. Check it out.
First off, we love the new Ram 1500 box. It's much better looking than the old box. It's not as square-jawed and chunky as before. Instead, it sits flush with the frame making room for bigger glass and a larger windshield. That's awesome. And the tailgate is actually back to being functional. Gone is the chrome plastic door handles and the ugly plastic trim. It's simple and clean with just the right amount of modern design elements.
In case you were wondering, there's still a manual liftgate. But, to accommodate the bigger glass and a cleaner cabin, the height of the window is higher and the gate gets moved lower, opening to the side. It's much easier to get into and out of with less of a chance to hit your head. I'll take it. It also gets much better fuel economy than before: 22 miles per gallon city and 33 mpg highway. You have to wait until 2023 to get this model, but it's definitely worth it.
One downside is that you lose the RamBox. It was a welcome addition and was so useful that it made an appearance in the new Ram Truck.
Here's where things get cool. Because the RamBox has been replaced, Ram also introduced an entirely new RamBox (aka Ram Box XL). Instead of sitting in the bed like the original RamBox, it now sits above the cab on the roof, just next to the windshield. And guess what? There's room for both.
I really like it. Not only will you have access to two boxes but it's way more convenient. Instead of having to lift both boxes up to unlock them, if you open the RamBox before hitting the button, the lights and lock will automatically unlock.
But the best part?
Will the Ram 1500 be redesigned in 2024?
By Greg Kable, 08.01.20, 4:30PM MST
The Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500 are the most iconic trucks ever made. We've seen new versions of both every year for more than 40 years, and it seems like truck fans want to see them until they go out of production. That could be coming soon for the Ram 1500, which was first introduced in 1981 and currently in its 22nd generation. Its next big redesign is expected to come in 2023.
Ford has announced that the F-150 will be redesigned after the 2023 model year. However, because of its global footprint, new F-150 models won't make it stateside until 2023. With that in mind, the automaker is getting the attention of North American truck fans by talking up new Ram 1500 variants and new trucks based on the F-150 platform. The 2023 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, as well as the new 2023 F-150, are all part of that mix.
One of the most interesting new entries into the lineup is the new 2023 Ram 1500 concept truck that debuted at the 2023 Chicago Auto Show. It is a preview of what the next-generation version of the popular pickup will look like, and it already has plenty of interest in the market. According to Automotive News, the concept will be produced in small numbers and go on sale in 2023.
The concept is said to borrow many of the styling cues from the 2023 Ford F-150 pickup. The front grille is reminiscent of a Ram pickup from over 40 years ago, with the horizontal slats replaced with a vertical design. A few of the truck's other iconic features include a two-piece tailgate and a unique cab design with no doors.
While the new concepts were mostly shown off by Ford, Ram will also launch its own concept truck. Based on the F-150 platform, the truck is expected to go on sale in 2023.
Will 2023 bring an electric truck? It seems like the next-generation truck will share the same platform as the company's newest concept truck. That means it should be available in two versions, as there will be two types of platform, all-wheel drive and the four-wheel drive (FWD) trucks.
Will 2024 Ram have hurricane engine?
No, no!
In the last post, I wrote that one of the major challenges for future models was that they were going to have to get better at predicting tornadoes. One of the issues facing future models is that, in spite of significant funding and research, we still don't really understand where most tornadoes form or why. But at least the models are improving. In the 1970s, most models of tornado formation focused on what was happening inside a storm, but now we are beginning to focus on what is happening outside the storm.
Here's the thing: even if the models got better at predicting where and when tornadoes would form, that wouldn't solve the bigger problem of understanding tornadoes from an ecosystem or natural resource perspective. Tornadoes are really weird natural phenomena - like, really. It's like they're a very fast, violent, super powerful hurricane that only goes to one place in the world. The idea of having all that power concentrated in one point on the globe makes me very nervous, especially considering that we are so far from any infrastructure that could withstand a tornado attack. As it turns out, we humans are so far from being ready for a hurricane that might also be a tornado
and here is where it gets even weirder than the notion of hurricanes that also are tornadoes. Here's what's going to happen to us if a huge tropical storm blows in and unleashes one of those giant hurricanes that comes with gigantic tornadoes. We're going to hear from the media about how that will be the year of the hurricane. We'll see the damage and we'll feel our fear, and then we'll get on with our lives. In reality, we are going to worry and plan because this year is going to be THE WORST - after the next seven years or so. In the spring of 2023, we'll notice that the wind and rain are less frequent and they are weaker than they used to be. By the time 2023 rolls around, we're going to be used to living with hurricanes as an average annual event.
Why? Because these storms are just part of life. This is the pattern of the climate and storms today.
