What is the problem with the Astra 1.4 engine?

What is the problem with the Astra 1.4 engine?

How reliable is a Vauxhall Astra Estate?

My husband just bought his third new car. Last two cars were both Volkswagen Polo's and he wasn't too happy but he loves the Astra and the previous Polo was the one that got the best of the deal. It had just over 300000 miles on the clock when it broke and he bought another Polo with around 65000kms on the clock. He thinks its about time that I got a break as I drive it everyday with him or do whatever needs to be done around the home. I drive about 4-5 days a week, a bit of school run on Friday's and on Sunday's I drop my husband to work and then come back. So I get about 11-12 hours a week with the car. As I live so close to him on a daily basis I do not have to worry about the running costs and I also feel safer with my hubby than without him! I have had nothing wrong with it. I drove it everywhere and I never noticed it breaking down when I was pregnant or doing any other type of work.

Hi, thanks for posting in the forum. My wife drives a Vauxhall Astra, I think it is quite good value considering that the previous vehicle cost 10,000 out of the blue. It had been an older car with high mileage until I got her the current model with only 7 miles on the clock since delivery and with all the extras she wanted. As it has a boot this made for space in the boot and because my dad lives with us and takes some longer trips, it was a good idea as it means he could go on some of his holiday trips without having to drive.

The main thing with the Astra is the reliability, my mate in the car industry has told me all types of stories about them (I will not say the name) it drives better than his new Audi A8 although in fact I don't know whether the Audi is any better than the Astra because our friend didn't keep the paperwork for both cars, you hear people talking about how a car will be great but once you start driving it, it isn't.

What is the problem with the Astra 1.4 engine?

Is it being replaced with a 1.6 or 1.8 engine, or is this a completely new engine?

I have an Astra 1.4 and I am not sure what the problem is. The car has been to the dealer for an oil change and they said there was no oil leak and that it wasn't leaking oil. They are telling me the problem is with the engine. The car is currently in the dealer's hands so they are trying to fix it, but it's been about a month since I took it to the dealership and I am not sure if it's going to be fixed.

My question is this: Is this an engine that will be replaced? Is it a 1. If it is a 1.4, is it being replaced with a 1.

Why are you replacing it with a 1. If the engine is over 12000 miles, it's most likely worn out and needs to be replaced. It is a good idea to look at other forums to see if you can get a better idea of the condition of the engine.

It's very important to know what the problem is before you replace the engine. It is a 1998 Astra 1.4TDI, with 110,000 miles on it. The dealer told me it was due for an oil change, so I took it to the dealer. The service manager said the engine was "all good" and I could drive it home. He said that it was fine for me to take it home and that the engine should last a lot longer than it had already.

When I got home, I looked up what an Astra 1.4 has on the Astra website, and it says that this engine has a service life of only 11,000 miles. I am not sure what I should do next.

The dealer told me that the reason it was leaking oil was because the engine was getting old and that it needed to be replaced. The dealer told me that he has seen many Astra 1.4s that have the same problem, and it was because the engine was old and worn out.

I want to know how bad the engine is and what I should do. Should I call the dealership to find out if the engine is being replaced, or should I take it back to the dealer?
