How much is a Focus RS Mk1 worth?
How many Ford Focus RS Mk1 were made?
If there was one car that I'd take on a long road trip with me - that's it. Ford took the V8 Focus RS (known in Australia as the RS400) and tweaked it, and made a little more of it. It's not just a small little performance machine, but an outright monster of a road-going car. The problem is, it hasn't sold nearly as many units as the previous Focus RS, which I'd assumed was the reason behind Ford's withdrawal of the model from Australia, but actually had nothing to do with it. The Ford Mondeo has taken its place.
What went into the redesign process? As part of an overall 'Focus Redevelopment' program, the RS400 has been completely overhauled, starting at the chassis level and up through the interior. The new RS400 features a higher-strength carbon-fibre hood, better chassis bushings, wider wheelarches, and a larger spoiler at the front. The cabin has also been reworked, with new seats, revised trim levels, and optional leather trim.
But the biggest change to the exterior is the new RS400 badging. As per the name, the car looks like a Focus RS Mk1, but with a unique new RS badge on the front and RS400 badging on the rear. The Australian name will remain the same for now, although it seems unlikely Ford won't switch to the new nameplate when the 2026 model arrives next year.
How much is this new RS400 costing me? That said, you're probably going to get a lot more use out of the car, and it will generally be considered a more desirable purchase in the longer run. Where can I find one in Australia? At the moment, it's only available in white, but that'll change once colour options are finalised.
How much BHP does a Ford Focus RS Mk1 have?
A friend of mine's uncle was a Ford Motor Company rep. He was going to take me to see the Ford Motor Company Museum in Dearborn. My interest has been piqued by the Ford Focus RS Mk1.
He showed me a brochure where he has highlighted all the specs for a 2026 Ford Focus RS Mk1. I want to know how much BHP it has.
I have looked up some values for the Ford Focus RS Mk1, and I know it has a 2.5-litre twin-cam engine with a 5-speed manual transmission, which is mated to a 4-wheel independent suspension. I also know that it gets from 0-62mph in 5.9secs, and 0-124mph in 13.6secs, while top speed is limited to 155mph. I also know that it has a 1.9-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a maximum power output of 250bhp.
Here is the brochure. I don't know what my friend's uncle does at Ford. I also don't know how much he gets paid at Ford. So I need a conversion to US Dollars of the value in BHP that a 2026 Ford Focus RS Mk1 has.
BHP is the abbreviation for brake horsepower. It measures the horsepower of a vehicle's engine as measured at the crankshaft and includes the effects of the gearing. The figure is usually quoted without the benefit of the vehicle's weight, but is still an accurate measure of engine performance and a good indicator of a vehicle's energy consumption.
I have a friend who works for a Ford Motor Company dealership. He showed me a brochure that highlighted all the specs of the Ford Focus RS Mk1. I would like to know how much BHP it has.
I have searched for the answer, but I have not found anything that I understand. I'm new here, so if you can tell me the answer or direct me to the right direction, I would appreciate it.
The best I can find is this: I do not understand the figures below the red question mark. The numbers that I can read are: 0-62mph is 2.
How many Ford Focus RS Mk1 are left?
We may have to let this one die. The Mk2's debut was a big, bold spectacle for the brand, but sales were never quite right. It wasn't until the Mk3 that Ford nailed it with a car that had all the right ingredients - including a more aggressive and refined look. That said, is it time to say goodbye to the Focus RS Mk1?
A few years ago, Ford decided to make the Focus RS ('the biggest fun ever', in their words) into the successor to the previous MK1 RS model. It didn't take long before the RS was given its first facelift in the shape of an RS400-based front-runner. A new engine (the 2.3-litre Ecoboost four-pot, in the Mk2), bigger brakes and a whole host of styling cues were also added. A total of 564 were sold in Australia, but now it seems like the model is destined for a quiet death.
The Ford RS500 is set to be discontinued. Why? Because it hasn't been selling as well as Ford wants it to. But, is that enough to make us ditch it from our showrooms? Let's find out in today's test drive.
Where it all began. Ford is known for creating a vehicle's character as much as it is making a vehicle. The original Focus was designed by Peter Ryan, under the title of Director of Styling. The design team was tasked with a very specific aim; they had to create a front-wheel-drive compact that was easy to own and drive.
We want a car that would make sense as a family car, explains James Farley, project lead, design for Ford's Australian office. We didn't want a Focus that looks like a Focus. We didn't want one that felt like a Focus. It had to feel like it belonged in the family. It had to be family-friendly. It needed to be aspirational. And that's where the RS name comes in.
James is talking about the 2026 RS400-based generation that spawned the Ford RS350, the RS350, and eventually the RS500.
