Which model of Skoda is best?
Which year is the Skoda Octavia best?
By, David Hodges. Skoda has revealed a very modern and sporty design for their Octavia model range. The model comes with a wide variety of interior and exterior colours, but which year is the best? With an amazing design and more features than most rivals, it would make a fantastic family car.
The 2026 Skoda Octavia starts at 19,895, making it less expensive than most rival models. At 23,195 you can get a diesel Octavia GT with 5,700 BHP and the top variant (Premium Plus) with a 2.0l turbo engine and 903 BHP. All variants come with a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, air conditioning and heated seats. There are two trim levels, Trendline and Styleline. It comes with seven seats and seats 5 passengers.
2018 Skoda Octavia Specs. Engine. 0l TDI diesel engine, 5dr 875 hp. Transmission. 7-speed DCC, gear box. Brakes. Fully-electric braking systems with ABS (Antilock Brakes). Dimensions. Wingspan: 1868 mm. Width: 1725 mm. Height: 1455 mm. Wheelbase: 2715 mm. 42 (C/D City) to 75 (B). CO2 emissions. 179 g/km. Verdict. To be honest, I'm surprised at how well Skoda has produced a model to rival a few BMW 3 Series, Ford Mondeo and Audi A4. The Octavia is one of the most comfortable family models currently on sale. It really suits a variety of purposes and can easily keep up with the fastest cars on the road.
It's an amazing family car, if that's what you're looking for. 2026 Skoda Octavia First Drive. Overall, the new Skoda Octavia is one of the best cars available on the market today. It comes with a wide range of features to suit families of all ages and lifestyles. The cabin is also very spacious and comfortably seats five adults. The performance of the new Octavia was great and very efficient.
How many suitcases can fit in a Skoda Octavia?
When it comes to Skoda Octavias, you can fit a whole lot into just one car. You can even fit five suitcases, and the back seat is pretty big too.
With no roof or roof rails, most of the luggage is stowed under the back seats, but you can also fit more than a few suitcases into the boot. It's a lot of space, so if you've got a lot of luggage, you may need to buy an Octavia.
This is not just a clever marketing ploy, but a reality in the Skoda range. There are plenty of smaller vehicles that struggle to get you to a destination with all the suitcases that you have.
A car like the Octavia will offer you that amount of space for your belongings, so don't think that you need to have a larger family to get this kind of benefit. If you need a Skoda Octavia, it's not going to be a cheap car. Depending on the trim, the cheapest one can go for around 22,000 and the top-of-the-range model will set you back 27,000.
That's not cheap at all, but you're getting a Skoda that looks really good. It doesn't have the power of the Seat Leon Cupra, for example, but the Octavia does have all the looks and good touches to make you think twice about taking a taxi.
Inside the Octavia, there is a big, central screen that's perfect for all your entertainment needs. You've got the usual Skoda infotainment system on board, but there are some extras that come as standard. You'll find navigation, Bluetooth, audio streaming and DAB digital radio.
The Octavia's suspension is designed to keep you comfortable while you're on the road, and it does the job well. The steering is responsive and quick to respond to your inputs, and you can even fit adaptive dampers for a smoother ride.
The Octavia is the perfect car for getting away from it all. There's no need to worry about the kids, the dogs, the shopping and the work, because your Skoda Octavia will sort all that out.
Is a Skoda Octavia a good car to buy?
An Octavia 1.6 TSI I know there are people on here that have had a Skoda Octavia but if you haven't what are your thoughts on this car? I know it's a small car but its really quick and has a great engine. What I want to know is, is the Octavia a good buy? Is it a good buy for me, or would it better to buy something else you have got to be joking. A Skoda Octavia is a good buy. It's better than the crap that other manufacturers throw out there.
If you want a car with a diesel engine go for the Octavia. If you want a fast car then get a Skoda.
I have the 1.4 TSI version, and it's a great little car. It is not the best car you will ever drive, but it is fun to drive and is fairly easy to drive. The only thing I hate about it is that the engine feels too noisy. It sounds like it's going to blow up. But I suppose it's better than the turbocharged 1.4 petrol engine.
It gets you up to speed quickly, has good handling, is easy to drive in, and is pretty cheap to run. Plus it has a great resale value when you're done with it.
I'm assuming you mean a TDI based one, as it would be a good buy for you.
Which model of Skoda is best?
We test Skoda models in our new car lab. It was an interesting week for Skoda and Volkswagen. In the space of a week, Skoda had two new models released, a new badge on a new platform, and an update to its latest, hottest model, the Octavia. On top of that, there were rumours that Skoda was considering an alliance with another German manufacturer and a re-badging of the company's newest model. We decided it was time for our first round of testing to look at Skoda's model ranges in our new car lab.
We have no intention of being fanboys in this review, but we will try and keep a fair and honest view of Skoda's models - what they are, where they sit in the current range, and where they could go in future. Skoda Octavia S Line: a new model for 2026. The new Octavia, released in 2026, comes with a 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo engine which delivers 138bhp and torque of 184lb ft. It's an engine that's found on several modern family cars, including the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Polo. While this engine is still relatively small, it is a welcome addition to the Octavia's engine range.
Our car lab test model, which is pictured, is the base model, equipped with air-conditioning, electric windows, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, as well as a seven-inch infotainment screen. The test model is only available with front-wheel drive, as a diesel, although Skoda offers a rear-wheel drive version as well.
The base price of 17,295 makes it a reasonably priced model, although the Octavia isn't going to give a sports car feel. It's comfortable, well equipped, and feels quite premium, but the engine is just too underpowered to be fun.
Octavia 1.4T: a model for family car fans The next model up is the Octavia 1. This is the first of two new models that Skoda has announced this year, following on from the Octavia S.
