Do Forest River RVs have formaldehyde?

forest river rv brands to avoid Do Forest River RVs have formaldehyde?

I've always avoided RV campgrounds (even a simple tent) until I learned that some (and most?) sites have formaldehyde in them. I really can't trust my nose to tell me if there is or isn't! There's no chance of getting formaldehyde at a place that rents pads since I know where my rig will sit.

Can you rent the entire forest river? I want to do it but worried about formaldehyde. The same place (with a similar name on the sign) where some of us were at on July 4 is also where my mother passed away. So, I wanted to stop there and check it out. My brother told me that he rented an RV there 3 times, which seems reasonable because it is a short 15 minute drive from our home. The 2 times I was with him, we could not find parking close to the building. We also couldn't find anyone working there. This happens a lot.

So, it was only after talking to my brother, I found your post. My biggest concern, however, will be sleeping in the RV after my mother died. That was awful. She has cancer and had just been through chemo. We are so used to sleeping in the car, in the tent, but now when we'll arrive in the next parking lot, to our surprise - we'll probably not find a parking spot there either! It appears to be an issue I should consider before I make a decision on where I'll park while my mother is alive. We'll try another time, but it won't work out as nicely.

Thanks for your insight, and please keep me posted. I am going through exactly the same thing and will let you know what I come up with. I did not realize the level of difficulty of getting a new forest river unit and driving it home. It makes me nervous now.

I don't want to stay away from campgrounds and parks - but as a disabled woman I can't stand the thought of being cooped up all day. We love going on drives - camping too - and I cannot stay out late and then get up early to go back to the home in New Mexico where we live full time - it's just too much.
