What engine is in Newmar Kountry Star?
What diesel engine does Newmar use?
Hi, im new on forum, but ive been lurking around for a while now. My dad is currently looking into switching to a diesel engine in his mopeds but he does like the feel of a petrol engine. He has looked at the Newmar 6500 engine and it seems like the perfect engine for him (not heavy or loud) however I was wondering what other engines he could use on this moped. I have searched around and cant find any info about the engine. I would appreciate if any of you could give me some information on this please. I want to keep in mind the durability/reliability of the engine as well as price.
Thanks. Welcome to the forum! The diesel engine in your dad's bike will be the Bosch L6B, the best, best diesel motor out there for the price, with low emissions and high durability. I'm sure your dad will love it! That being said, I know for a fact that Newmar only uses the L6B as well. If you look up a post by me on the site's Newmar forum it should answer your question. Good luck!
If my memory serves me correct, you can purchase the Bosch L6B engine, remove the existing gasoline engine, install the diesel engine, put it in a frame and you have a moped or scooter. Not sure if the rear wheels are removed.
The original diesel engine was a 6-cylinder, 3-valve per cylinder unit of 1.6 liters.
I also believe the engine was in the center of the frame, but maybe that's a European specific, I don't know. The Newmar-Granite engines have been changed over to 4-cylinders. They are 1.9 liters and run on a 50:50 mix of regular gas and diesel fuel. The top speeds should be in excess of 60 mph.
Is Newmar Kountry Star a good RV?
I am interested in Newmar Kountry Star RV and I am looking at it on ebay and it looks good. Can someone tell me what they think about the RV? Is it a good buy or not? I don't know much about RV's. Any help will be appreciated.
Comments. If you do not know anything about RVs and you have no idea of the price to purchase it, why do you want to own it? The answer is, you don't really know if it is a good buy or not. Let's say you were going to buy a house that you had never been in and you were told that it was a brand new one. You could call the local building inspector and have him check it out. He would take measurements, look for any major problems and report them to you. If he found something serious and told you about it, you would know what you had to do.
However, the same can't be said about buying an RV, because you have no idea of how old or new the RV is. Most of us have been there before, with a family who bought a new van to use as their daily driver and then got so attached to it that they kept it and never used it as a daily driver. It doesn't make sense to have an RV that you will only use for your summer vacations.
When you buy a car, you have to go through an inspection process. When you buy a new car, the inspections usually start at the factory and go to the dealer. If something is found, it is usually reported to you before you drive it off the lot.
When you buy a new RV, you buy it from the dealer and then you must drive it around for a while to see how it feels to you. If something is found, it is usually reported to you before you drive off the lot.
There are many RV dealers in the U., and they will tell you that their RVs are made in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America, etc. This is all fine and good.
What engine is in Newmar Kountry Star?
I would like to know the engine that Newmar uses on their Kountry Star. I really like the boat, but I have to wonder if the engine is one that I could get used to or not. If anyone can post a pic of the engine, it would be very helpful.
It's a 671E. If you look on www.boatsbuilder.com you'll find pics of the hull and deck. If you want more info PM me.
I think there's only two engines: 671 and 672. Newmar probably switched to the 671 at some point because the 672 is a bit more expensive.
I had some problems with the transmission in the newmar boat. I was wondering if the newmar would also have the same problems. The boat does not seem to be built with the same care as the newmar. The bottom of the boat looks like it has been hit by a baseball bat.
The hull/deck was probably built to meet all applicable US Coast Guard requirements (and most likely the manufacturer's) and then later modified to provide a smoother ride. The design/construction may be pretty good.
Thanks for the reply. I checked out the website.
