Why is the Miata RF more expensive?

Is the MX-5 RF worth it?

When I bought the MX-5 RF, I did so mostly for the looks. Then when I drove it a bit, I realized the car handles really well on the road. It makes quick work of corners and it's fun to drive. But there's a small nagging feeling that the car doesn't look quite as good as the standard cars from the BMW stable. It's not really a problem, but as the years go by and more people start driving the car, it might get to be a problem.

I feel like the car is worth the extra money, especially since I don't need another car. With that in mind, here are a few things that come to mind. (I have no idea how much these figures might be different than they would in the States.)

The car feels and handles better than I expected - it just feels as if it goes around the curves faster. I got some grip in the wet, even though the brakes weren't the best. You can see right through the center tunnel with the rain on the windscreen. I wouldn't mind putting some sound deadening inside the cabin (not having to do that was one of my reasons for getting the V6). All that said, would I recommend the car? That is tough, because it's an easy answer to get the most out of the car. The engine is great, but it's not enough. What would happen is if I got bored with driving the car, I would get a different one.

Also, for those who think the car is fun, I don't think I could argue against that. But I still feel it should be on sale at a fair price. I wish it was more affordable, but it's not really.

The RF doesn't look much different then the first generation (it did at first). They also changed the front and the rear lights to the new design. The original ones still look fine.

In 2026, Mazda released two versions of the mid-engine Mazda MX-5. 2026 Mazda MX-5 2.0i The 2026 version is a facelift with the same powertrain and chassis and is the only difference between the models. Why is the Miata RF more expensive?

2023 mazda mx 5 rf for sale Why is the Miata RF more expensive?

Why did Mazda choose to do things the way they did with the Miata RF? You might be asking yourself this question because the Miata series is one of the cheapest and most affordable Japanese sports coupes sold. This is what Mazda has always been about. It is about the people, it is not about brands and about companies wanting to get rich. This car, the Miata RF (Roadster e) will be a special edition version and will only have 10,000 units built. To get this car, you need to invest a lot of money for more power and upgrades such as Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, and special tires. As you can see, it costs quite a lot to get this little sports coupe. Is it still worth all that hard work? Well, this article has answer for you.

You may think that by getting into a more expensive version of a car that is more economical might be not wise. But, in reality, going into the pricier version of an entry-level car can be very good as in some cases like the Honda Jazz and Ford Fiesta, its owners find out that there are hidden benefits, which other people are too dumb to see. However, Mazda has also decided to take a different approach as compared to other manufacturers. Although Mazda is the company that offers the cheapest cars in the world, but that's not true if you know how to compare the prices. Mazda claims that this car will give a fiesta feel, with low-key and smooth handling, along with lots of power that reaches up to 130 mph. With only a 0.1 mile lag time (as compared to 0.2 miles at 1/4 race speed) for the quarter mile, it sounds amazing if you are driving an auto on the highway. The engine of the Miata RF produces 170 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque.

What should you expect from the Miata RF?

Are Mazda MX-5 going up in value?

A few months ago, a friend and I sat in his garage in the morning and had a conversation about the future of the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Our conversation wasn't so much about how the car would sell for more money in the future. No, that's silly. Instead, we were discussing whether Mazda's iconic, light-footed sports car would become more valuable over time. We don't know why it has, but we know that for several years now, dealers and collectors alike have been buying the little thing at a higher rate than ever before.

The market for the MX-5 is currently in a good place, and that could be just the start of a new era of higher value, says Mark Schutz, editor of The Best Car Value Guide. In an email interview, Schutz said that there's been an uptick in prices since the first half of 2026, and some cars are selling at record prices in the current market.

Schutz attributes the trend to three things: the Miata's unique role as a Japanese icon, the rise of supercars, and the fact that the car has received a fair amount of attention in the news in recent years. He said these factors have made the car a "trend-setting value." And as you'd expect, Schutz believes that the Mazda's popularity is only going to increase in the years to come.

To help you keep up with the trend, we've got a few articles for you to read that go over the MX-5's most recent trends and its potential future value. Here's what you need to know. The MX-5's market is growing, not shrinking. According to data from CarsDirect, the MX-5 has had a year-over-year increase of approximately 7.9 percent for each of the last six months. The sales figures are impressive, and in the same time frame, the figure for most vehicles dropped. Some of the largest decreases were seen with the Audi A3 (10.9 percent) and BMW 1 Series (11.2 percent).

Schutz also pointed out that when compared to similar small cars, the Miata has seen better market growth. According to Autodata, the Miata only trailed the Honda Civic and Subaru Legacy, which were also two-door hatchbacks with high performance.
