Is Focus ST or RS faster?

I have a Focus ST that has been great over all, but recently had it break an exhaust gasket and oil pump( I replaced the one from another car) It has done about 3000 miles since I got it back so I don't need to make the oil change soon( It does go through quite a bit of oil anyway), but I need to know what type of drive train components to be on the look out for. My mechanic mentioned that a lot of the Focus ST's come with a stronger transmission than the regular RS's. I have read that the transmission in the ST is similar to the VW Golf's transmission so I am not sure if there is any validity to this statement. My reason for this question is that the car that I drive everyday now is a 2024 RS and I would like to buy another one like the Focus ST for a daily driver. However, I don't want it to fall apart again and the only thing I can think of between the two is the drive train and if the drive train in the ST is stronger than the RS. So does anyone have any insight into this?

Also what should be my oil change interval on the RS or ST? The manual says I change it every 2500 miles, however, the factory recommends I change it every 3 months. I did some checking around on the forums and it seems like there are differences with the RS and the ST on their own oil life.

I would just say that any problems you have from a regular dealer, you will probably have them with the st. When I bought mine, the car had about 60000 miles on it and had major problems from the day I bought it. I took it to a friend who was an expert mechanic and he found that the original oil seal was not installed properly on the engine. All they said they had was a couple of parts that would fix the problem. I did find a place that could re-do the whole engine before they could try fixing the oil seal. When I went to a different dealer (I have family in chicago) that knew me, he told me that if I wanted a st, that it wasn't worth the hassle and I would never be able to keep it. They were not happy that I just went to a shop where I have family.

If you want a more powerful version of the car, then you might want to consider the Performance Package. This includes the base model, but it also gets upgraded to a 2.

The ST stands for Specialised Training and the fact that you do only get one run around per session is a definite advantage to those who want lots of information about how they can become fit. I don't know what the cost is for a session, but it has to be way under a hundred quid. That's not much of a dealbreaker for me when everything else is being discussed.

I think there are plenty of places where people can go online for training advice but for many reasons, it simply doesn't make sense. For example - if I wanted to go out and run in a 5km race on the beach, it simply wouldn't make sense and I might get seriously injured by slipping over the kerb on a dark and uneven road. If the advice was freely available on some other form of technology or medium (as most training programs and web based training sites do) then it might make sense.

But when you are spending such a large amount of money with an event specialist like Focus, it makes more sense to meet up with them and get all the support and motivation available. I would much rather spend a couple of hours talking to one trainer and getting to grips with the idea than doing the same on the web. They are a lot more efficient with what you are asking for, and that is time which would otherwise be spent not getting on with whatever you were supposed to be doing! If the advice was freely available on some other form of technology or medium (as most training programs and web based training sites do) then it might make sense.
