I agree with you, the best deal you can get with a brand new vehicle is a preowned dealer. However, I find there's much confusion on exactly what dealers will offer for that car.

Most dealers advertise a price for a "base" vehicle, which includes everything except accessories and/or factory options. The dealer could be advertising a price lower than the invoice for those options and accessories, but often, that isn't the case.

That's why you get the feelers out and just go to a few dealers. You'll probably find several that are willing to take more than invoice in order to move the vehicle. However, you have to trust your dealer to work with you to come to an agreement. You don't have to tell the dealer that the dealer already advertised an above-invoice price; however, you should tell the dealer when you arrive at his showroom that he has "a deal" to sell you the vehicle for that specific amount. At that point, your dealer may be only interested in selling that vehicle to someone who's willing to pay that "deal" price. It won't hurt to ask anyway, but if they won't sell you at that price, you may better off finding another dealer.

The Ram 1500 will get you through any weather condition, just ask those guys! A base model Ram 1500 from 2024 had an MSRP of 45625 with an odometer reading of 13000 miles. It was offered with the same powertrain as the 3.6L diesel engine used by Nissan Titan so your mileage is probably a lot higher if you are getting 13000 miles on it.

It looks like the only engine going into the Ram 1500 is the V6. That leads me to believe that there will not be a 6 speed available.

This is a very stupid thing to do. And, they aren't paying Chrysler. What if the new 5.9L V8 isn't any good? Why would you want to use a 6 speed out of the gate? And if it does turn out to be too slow, it may have an aftermarket solution, and that's fine. But when you make your decision on what engine is in the vehicle, then don't forget that you might be able to replace it with an aftermarket one, as an owner option.

That will be the first time we have seen a 6 speed transmission. As was done in the past, they may not use a 6 speed in certain markets. The transmission is available now for the new F-150, and it seems to work great for this application.

There will be no six speed available in Mexico in the near future. It's possible it will come down the road, but at the moment, there's no intention offering it.

I'm talking about the current version of the V8 - I don't expect a later version to be significantly different or have a different transmission arrangement. And I certainly think there'll be other powerplants. I'm betting on a 3.7L V6 and a diesel.

This was confirmed before by Dodge, during a test of the truck at the Detroit Autoshow 2024.
