How much horsepower does a 2024 5.7 Hemi have?
How much horsepower does a 2023 Ram 1500 hurricane engine have?
How can I get a hold of a Hurricane/Supercharger exhaust pipe?
I'll go with the 20 hp Hurricane (and the 3.92 gears), but I want to know about some of these other items, as some are not readily available locally. Here's some of my questions:
If you order the truck with an aftermarket engine package that has air conditioning, will the compressor come on when you start the truck? or do you have to order it without air conditioning and have the A/C removed? - I was going to order a 20 hp Hurricane motor, but it looks like the Ram doesn't offer them in 2023. Is there a way to find out how many hp it has so I can adjust the drive shafts in the new truck? - Can't find the aftermarket radiator on line. Do I need to order that too? There is one listed at the top of the aftermarket engine order form, but I can't figure out which radiator is the model.
How important is water cooling? I have a few of those on my '55 but never heard if they are needed. Will it take more than the two hours to install everything? I'm only looking to drive about 40 miles a day and only on nice dry days. Does the Supercharger really help at high speeds? Will the engine light come on? - When I pull up to the pump at a rest stop, there is no blower whine. Is that normal? Do I need a blower belt? - I'll be doing a 590 hp project as soon as I finish this one. I know what it will take, but want to try it on a small engine first. Can someone share their experience and thoughts on doing this conversion on a small block engine? Any tips on things to consider? My previous thought was going with a Chevy small block for the engine. Is it worthwhile considering the small differences in HP between the two engines?
Well here are some links that may help you guys with your questions for me: Thanks for the link Jeff - that makes the ordering very clear. Now what do I need to know about the engine? What did they use on the testbed one? Thanks! Quote: The test engine used on the testbed vehicle has a 1569cc Holley VEHP engine and was a Ford, 5.
Will 2024 Ram 1500 get hurricane engine?
The Ram 1500 will debut two engines next year, likely one gas engine and one high-output diesel option. The engine family that will be in the 2023 Ram 1500 should have a new generation of turbocharged six-cylinder powertrains. Ram says all 2023 models have a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 305 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque.
And the 5.7 will go away in 2023 when the company's new 6.2-liter Duramax turbocharged EcoDiesel V8 is on display as an optional piece.
That engine replaces the 4.7-liter V8 already offered on 2023 and 2023 Ram 1500s. Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks are using the 4.7 Duramax.
Ford expects to put the most powerful diesel engine available into the truck category when it releases a turbocharged six-cylinder version of its 3.3-liter EcoBoost V6 starting mid-year.
Ram spokesman Dave Cole says that a future iteration of the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine will be in the 2023 model year although it's not official yet.
Cole says Ram 1500 will debut two engines in 2023 - a gas V6 and 6.7-liter EcoDiesel V8 that makes 350 horsepower. The six could go to power the new Ram 2500 line as a replacement for the venerable DuraTrak 6.5-liter V8.
When we see the V6 in 2023 it will have a lower displacement than the current 5.7 L V8 but will have a greater displacement than the Duramax-powered EcoDiesel.
Ram does not offer direct pricing on the HEMI in the U.S., though it does sell engines used elsewhere. And the EcoDiesel may come in at a discount to the Duramax that's included with the base model. But the engine price remains a closely guarded secret as is the exact placement of the four-banger in the current Ram 1500. (Related: 2023 FCA North American Truck Strategy)
Ram has a good track record when it comes to engine lineup continuity. With the exception of the Duramax, engines have been available to buyers for more than 10 years now.
How much horsepower does a 2024 5.7 Hemi have?
The Hemi is a powerhouse. It generates over 700 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque, which is pretty much the only way to describe the power of the Hemi.e. For enthusiasts, the Hemi has been the top dog for decades, but for muscle car enthusiasts, it's usually the old Hemi that takes center stage. And for those who enjoy high-performance engines, there are a ton of tuners and heads on the market that can make the Hemi even more powerful than it is today.
How Much Power? With the addition of the EFI system, the Hemi was given its own engine code on the engine label. The first Hemi code is HEMI and for good reason. With the addition of the EFI system, the Hemi was given its own engine code on the engine label.
The HEMI engine codes went from HEMI-B to HEMI-C to HEMI-E to the current HEMI-E1. While the horsepower figures remained relatively consistent, the torque numbers climbed steadily throughout the different engine codes. The HEMI-E1 version of the Hemi has generated over 700 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque at the crank, so there's no doubt that the Hemi will continue to pack a punch.
You might be asking yourself how the Hemi even remains in production. The Hemi is the most powerful engine in the Mustang. The Hemi has been around for decades and there are still plenty of people who would like to see the Hemi retire. That said, the Hemi will continue to be one of the most powerful engines in the Mustang.
Is Ram 1500 getting hurricane engine?
(and do I really need it?)
I own a new 2023 Ram 1500 that has a factory manual transmission. The tranny shifts just fine, but when I go down shift with the lever, there is a slight hesitation (not much) followed by a smooth shift. In theory, this should be no problem as I have other vehicle models that handle this fine. But, for some reason I'm uneasy. Will this problem get worse in time? How worried should I be about the shifting performance? I have had transmissions replaced on a number of vehicle types including a previous Jeep Grand Cherokee. The factory transmission in the Ram 1500 I'm driving now has a history of getting stuck if the vehicle has not been driven for any length of time. The transmission was replaced under the warranty and resolved the issue (no problem shifting the transmission on the previous Ram 1500). I am wondering if the problem is the same one.
If the issue does go away or not, what are my options to avoid the same problem happening again? Is there a good chance the shift pattern can be shifted up? Should I remove the transmission and see if there is a problem with the internal gearing? Sorry for asking so many questions but I need your help to figure out the best direction to head in before I invest more money into this vehicle. AFAIK the stock tranny has a dual-declutch system that uses separate clutches for each end of the tranny assembly. So, if the shift patterns have the clutches slipping together, there's no harm done. As far as the stock tranny goes, there's no issues with having to shift the patterns up. It just takes the right hand clutch pedal. I've worked on several vehicles and we always adjust the patterns for a smoother shift.
Thanks. So, to get the right hand clutch pedal, you should press on the brake pedal with the right foot while holding the shifter in place? No chance to push the shifter toward the floor with the right foot? I really don't understand why they don't use the gear shifter to move the pattern up. That way, there is no need to hold the brake pedal with the right foot while trying to move the shifter. And it would have eliminated the problem of having to take off the transmission (and maybe lose something as well).
