Who makes IVECO?
We work in the area of technology in order to contribute, with our creativity, to a more efficient business and society. Iveco. IVECO is an Italian company based in Cassino, Italy. The company is best known for manufacturing heavy duty trucks for over 50 years, with an emphasis on safety. This is evidenced by their certification as an ISO 9001:2015/14001/20000 company. They are the market leader in this sector in Europe.
They do not manufacture their own trucks, but rather buy and re-brand used chassis from other manufacturers. Some of the re-branding is done themselves, and some is outsourced. At their own plant in Campione d'Italia, they build the bodies that are then attached to the rest of the chassis and finished with a paint job.
IVECO has been working on their own design and development of semi-trailers for many years. These trailers were produced and sold under the IVECO brand name, and they are currently working on their own brand.
We'll look at some interesting developments in this video. Why We Bought IVECO. When we purchased IVECO back in January of 2025, we only had one reason for the purchase. Safety. This was a priority when we bought the company. We know it is a big part of their business, so were extremely concerned about the level of safety that IVECO had demonstrated.
It seems that the IVECO brand has always focused on safety, so we knew they would be no different than the rest of the industry when it came to safety. There was only one way to find out if they would be able to maintain that standard after we purchased them.
The following tests were performed during our due diligence investigation of IVECO: Road Tests. Onsite Test Results. SIAE (Italy's Certification Body) Test Results. Seat Belt Tests. Tests Run by our Accredited Certification Body. Of all the safety tests we performed, IVECO passed all of them. Let's look at some of the specifics. Road Tests are a common method of testing safety standards. They are done with several cars driven by experts.
Are Ford and IVECO the same?
Can you imagine how confusing a conversation on this site would be if it was like "Yes, they are the same company. They are Ford and Ford of Italy." or "Nope, they are two different companies, Ford and IVECO."
If you answer yes, it would be easy to figure out what company you are talking about. If you answer no, then some readers might not know what company you are talking about, because your post was in the context of talking about Ford Fortuner vs. Ford S-MAX.
This is just a guess. But my hope is that one day a person posts a "Yes, this is Ford" thread and someone else replies with "Nope, this is IVECO". So we can all laugh together and move on
What I don't understand is why so many posts use the pronoun 'we' as an indication of something that is true for that particular poster. It sounds to me that at least half of the posters here don't really make a distinction between IVECO, Ford and Ford Ireland, and instead refer to them as a single entity.
In that way it makes life a bit easier as there aren't so many posts to search through - though I'm still wondering who has a Ford and who has IVECO. Ford Fortuner vs. Ford S-MAX - Ford Ireland vs Ford Italy - the question We will probably talk about cars sometime but today we'll talk about where you buy your car. Is it fair to say in that case Ford have put all of the emphasis on their 'own' cars? Does their own manufacturing policy allow them to focus solely on their cars etc rather than looking after third party cars as well as local Italian cars too, ie Fords own cars only but also a focus on their own cars with limited support etc for others etc. Or have we got it wrong ie is there more to Ford than simply the Irish cars and has Ford built more than one car ie more than just 2 in all? Has anyone a idea about this which they'd be interested to share on this site? So maybe one day on this site you'll find lots of people are talking about IVECO but most don't know Ford even exists?
