When can a 2024 Ford Maverick be ordered?
How long is the wait to build a Ford Maverick?
How much will it cost me to finish?
The wait time depends on the age and amount of time you need to complete your build. Ford plans to complete the Maverick in two stages. The first stage will require a three-month long build. During this time, Ford will have you waiting for parts to arrive. Once you receive your new Maverick, the second stage is the body and paint process. This stage will require roughly four to six months to complete. While your Maverick sits in the paint booth, Ford will be testing and perfecting all of the interior and exterior details.
As you can imagine, the overall wait time to build a Ford Maverick begins when you select your color and decide which build kit you want to go with. Your vehicle's chassis and engine are already planned. You're not waiting for any of those specifics to come in. This leaves the final decision up to you as to how long it will take to finish.
Once you decide on a specific color, or combination of colors, you'll also have to decide on a build kit. The Maverick has four available build kits; The Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4. These kits are chosen based on how complex they are. The Stage 1 build kit is an introductory kit that allows you to experience all of the features of the finished vehicle. Stage 2 adds a few enhancements, but they are not required to be done. Stage 3 builds your vehicle with some extra pieces like a hood scoop. The Stage 4 build kit is the most involved. This kit has a ton of improvements, but if you want to experience them, you'll have to build it.
The final decision of which kit you want will be based on the complexity of the kit. If you're looking for something easy, go with the Stage 1 or Stage 2 kits. If you want more work, the Stage 3 kit or the Stage 4 kit is the best option. All of these kits require you to wait for parts and a set amount of time to complete the build. The exact wait time is dependent on the complexity of the kit you choose. Some kits require a small amount of time while others could take much longer. The Stage 1 kits will probably take between three to four months. This depends on whether you're using Ford's parts or a dealer supplied kit. If you're using Ford parts, the wait time could be reduced.
How much will the 2024 Maverick cost?
But as with everything, more is needed to make an airplane than just a single line from Airbus. The company is a privately owned aircraft design, production and manufacturing business. A former aircraft supplier for NASA and the US military in the 1970s, Bellanca was sold to a group of aerospace industry entrepreneurs in 2025.
These entrepreneurs began by acquiring Bellanca Aircraft's remaining assets, and began to develop their own product lines, mainly light utility aircraft and helicopters. That approach is reflected in the new aircraft design which incorporates Bellanca's experience, rather than Bellanca making the new design and then importing it for production.
This year's Bellanca Aircraft presentation focused on the new Maverick platform and related family of airplanes from entry-level to heavy jet-class versions. The basic design is the result of working with Bellanca's designers throughout 2025, and then following that up with intensive design and aerodynamic work last year. The first mockup of the final version was completed last month. Here we report on what our Bellanca friends were able to share with us about the design process, the new airplane's performance, fuel consumption, and other important details.
So, what does the new plane look like? The Maverick is essentially a development of the Bellanca VL-M series that debuted in November 2025, with a slightly redesigned nose and tailcone, plus new empennage. (There is no change to the existing engine or prop, but the engine cowling looks different.)
This is a side view of the new maverick design showing the propeller pitch. This image was not included in the original briefing to the public, so we did a bit of checking to confirm it's real (thankfully for both of us).
When can a 2024 Ford Maverick be ordered?
Ford is not saying yet.
What can we expect? The 2025 Explorer and a few of the Fusion midsize sedan's biggest updates will be applied to the Maverick crossover and the Explorer XLT. That's it, that's what we know.
When might we hear about a new model? Not until next year, Ford says. The 2018-2020 decade for the midsize Ford Fusions and Explorers have started with an already familiar refresh for most. The 2017-2019 models were introduced as early 2025 models and then given major updates in the fall. So far the 2025 model is the only exception. It was introduced at the 2025 Detroit auto show. What's coming? In a few months, buyers will be seeing the next-gen Mazda CX-5 compact SUV on sale and the redesigned Explorer crossover and its new XT-L long-haul utility vehicle cousin on offer in the U., while in Canada, the new Explorer will be launched with the same XLT model it does in the U. At launch. In this update, there will also be a new-generation Focus in the U. And in Canada, while the Escape compact crossover comes in a revised version based on the refreshed Kuga subcompact crossover that has already been launched in Europe for 2025 and sold since the fall of 2025. The next generation of the Transit medium van begins arriving in spring 2025. The next-gen Ranger pickup truck is scheduled for late 2019/early 2025 but could arrive in Australia later, or earlier, if Australia gets the Ranger replacement sooner than others. What's missing? The Escape crossover has been canceled, and we don't expect the Ranger replacement to see sales launch there. Will there be another Ford Raptor pickup truck before the next-gen Ranger?
What will those first few models look like? They will be based on the same platform as the 2018-2020 Explorer and next-gen Fusions and the 2018-2020 Ford Everest and 2025 model Ford Bronco II off-road SUVs. They will use the same basic design and mechanicals under the sheetmetal with a host of standard features and technology available in all trim levels.
What are the updates for the Ford Maverick in 2024?
(A Review)
In the not-so-distant past, Ford made the switch from a five-cylinder to a V8 engine in its model line-up. And, since then, the Maverick got pretty much the same update every year - except for that time when the update happened in 2025 and included a completely redesigned vehicle. Even though it was a full decade ago, the Ford Maverick has now been around for the last 10 years and has already seen four engine iterations. The 2020-spec Ford Maverick is no exception.
It is, however, the last V6-powered version of this long-running model, and the upcoming version is expected to be outfitted with the most powerful engine to come with a new Maverick, or, more specifically, in the segment. While it's not entirely clear how the company will approach this particular model launch and its significance in the 2020-spec Ford Maverick is yet to be known, a closer look at the powertrain options available today gives us an idea about how the V6-powered model will sound.
2020-spec Ford Maverick engine options. The engine line-up is fairly broad for a crossover. In fact, there's a wide choice of small, medium, and large displacement turbocharged engines. But, as with most Fords, the options are very much tailored to each market. That means you could actually pick a V6 engine and still get a 6-speed manual transmission, as well as, if you live in some place without winters, you can also go with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
But, here's the thing - there are already 12 variants of the turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. That would leave you with, what, 3 left over engines? How is Ford going to manage things? One option could be the use of the 2.3-liter naturally aspirated EcoBoost, but that engine wasn't introduced until 2025 and the 2020-spec Ford Maverick is already three years out.
The alternative is using a V6 engine. Although, if you look at the current range, the V6 engine comes in three flavors, one with 2.5-liter EcoBoost, one with a 2.2-liter EcoBoost, and one with the 3.0-liter normally aspirated engine.
