How much horsepower does a 2016 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi have?
How fast does a Ram 1500 go from 0 to 60?
This truck's acceleration is one of the things that it's not known about. It's one of the things that has me confused about how fast the Ram 1500 can actually go.
I had the chance to drive the new Ram 1500 at a Chrysler dealer recently, so I was able to see how much fuel the truck burns, as well as how fast the engine seems to rev and the transmission seems to be shifting. What I want to know is: What kind of driving habits does the average truck owner have? How much weight does a truck really have in the back? And how long does the Ram 1500 take to go from 0 to 60? These are the questions that I want answered, and we have an expert who has been in a Ram 1500 for years to shed some light on them.
We're going to run this with a Toyota Camry. The Toyota makes more than the Ram 1500, which is also true of most models. Most owners don't have enough weight in the back to make that much difference, and neither does their engine have enough power to justify a difference. However, the difference between the two is how they are built.

When you talk about the Ram 1500 being "bulky" in the back, how much does that weight really affect how much torque the engine will have or how much power the tires will have? Aerodynamics. Every car and truck has the same basic shape. It has four wheels, the front two of which steer. It has a hood, trunk, tailgate, windshield, hood scoop, and fenders, which house the rear tires. There's nothing new about the design. No matter what kind of truck or SUV, there's very little that is truly different from it. That shape and basic design are common to all of them.
What changes are made are mostly things that are added on top of it. Those include lights, antennae, rear spoiler, and so forth. Any design that needs to be added onto this model are done on top of the basic design. What that means is that almost every truck design that looks different than what we've seen in the past has a big impact on how aerodynamics are changed. What happens with the design is that many engineers begin to try and figure out ways to make those pieces work better.
What is the 0 to 60 on a Ram Rebel TRX?
If we are talking about the performance of this car as a "sports" car, what is the 0 to 60 in seconds? I'm sure it's not in the mid 6 range, but what is it? I need to have an idea on this to make a decision on my first sports car. I want to order a Ram Rebel TRX. Can I get it in Red or White? Does anyone have any experience with the Ram Rebel TRX? Is it a good sports car? Is it fun to drive? The answer is YES. And it is fun to drive as well. The Rebel is a blast to drive. It is a blast to drive period.
The top line has always been the Ram 1500. The Rebel is the top-line car, and they should be selling like hotcakes.
The problem I see is that the Ram 1500 is a more mainstream vehicle, and it's very common to see people buying them in lieu of a Mercedes. If you are going to buy a car to drive, you might as well go the Mercedes route because there will be more people driving them.
The Rebel, on the other hand, is a niche product, and it's usually the more exclusive, less common car. This is why you might not see too many sales. People who want a luxury vehicle are going to pick the Mercedes S-Class, or something like that. The Rebel is for the guys who just want to have fun.
So, if you have your heart set on buying a sports car, then by all means get the Rebel. I can promise you that it's fun, and it's a blast to drive. I'd recommend the white with the black interior, personally, but it doesn't really matter.
There are a few different options to choose from when it comes to the body styles. I think most people would agree that the Rebel is the best one. There's the Rebel, the Rebel SLT, and even the Grand Cherokee SRT8.
The SL and the SLT are meant for off-road use, and they don't include all the bells and whistles. The SRT8 is the most powerful model, and it features some of the same upgrades as the Ram 1500, like the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine.
How much horsepower does a 2016 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi have?
What is its top speed? Is it still the strongest pickup truck? The answer to these questions is surprising.
The 2024 Ram 1500 can be equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an automatic torque converter. On the highway, it will reach a speed of up to 120 mph. The Ram 2500 and 3500 get a bit more power, up to 122 mph. The top speed of the new Hemi engine is actually higher than the old 3.73L V6 (140 mph) for the 2024 model year. So, it's clear that the new Hemi engine has more potential and might be more powerful.
It seems to me that we will never truly know what the performance capabilities of the Hemi are until the new EcoDiesel can actually compete with the 6.7L PowerStroke V8 on paper, in the real world, and at the dragstrip. It seems that there should be some good numbers when that happens, but the EPA is notoriously fickle about testing the new Duramax on the same scale as it has tested the old 5.2L Power Stroke V8.
So I was surprised when I looked at the data from the 2024 models tested for ratings on the Environmental Protection Agency's official website. For the 2024 model year, the Hemi produced just under 450 hp in the Ram 1500, so there are not even close to the 700 hp that would be necessary for the truck to go 160 mph.
And while the Hemi did produce more torque than the previous model year, it only put out just over 290 lb-ft, according to the EPThat was down almost 50 lb-ft from the V6 it replaced, and just over 25 lb-ft less than the 6.7L PowerStroke diesel that replaced it.
I then looked at the Ram 3500 and Ram 2500 which also had the Hemi option. In those models, the EPA puts the horsepower down to 400 for the Ram 3500 and 420 for the Ram 2500. For comparison, the diesel engine in the Ram 2500 puts out just over 550 hp.
So what is the Hemi really good for? The EPA says it's good for gas mileage. But according to Ram, the Hemi does much more than that.

Top 5 Dodge. 2024 Ram 2500 Rebel. 2024 Ram 1500 Rebel. 2024 Ram 2500 Rebel. 2024 Ram 1500 Rebel. Ram 2500. What can I say about the Ram? Other than to say it's a fine, strong and capable vehicle. Sure, we have our own favorites (see our list of Best Minivans), but there's no doubt the Ram is a strong choice among minivans, and that you'll feel confident with when tackling tough terrain and off-road terrain. The base model features plenty of features, which includes the all-new Cummins EcoDiesel 4.0L engine. The interior features plenty of standard features like automatic climate control, leather seats, etc. There's no need for a special edition when the Rebel is already such a strong and capable mini-truck. It has good safety ratings, and is priced below most other minivans in its price range.
