Automotive sales still dominated by Ford Focus
Beating all of it's rivals in sales terms, already 20% vehicles have been sold in the first six months of 2013 than in the same period of last year. These figures are all based on data released by automotive data and marketing solutions company Polk. Total worldwide sales of the Ford Focus so far this year is put at 589,709, though most of these purchases have been made in mainland China and in other Asian markets.
Here in the UK, sales of the Ford Focus are up too, with an increase of up to 9%. Total sales this year equal 47,675 currently, compared to 43,853 in total for the first six months of 2012. However, the ever-popular Ford Fiesta beats it's brother in total sales in the UK.
Throughout the worldwide market, the Ford Fiesta is ranked fourth. This makes Ford the only automotive manufacturer to feature two of it's models in the global top five best-sellers. Spokesperson for Ford, Jim Farley, commented that their two popular offerings the Fiesta and the Focus continue to improve in both vehicle quality and global sales figures. These two models, and the rest of Ford's offerings all adhere to their 'One Ford' strategy, which involves attractive, good-looking vehicles, with focusing on leading technology, good fuel economy, and a decent drive quality.
