How much can a 5.7 L V8 Hemi tow?
What years to avoid for the 5.7 Hemi Ram 1500?
By Bob. (Baton Rouge, LA). I'm looking to buy a new truck. I have been reading around on the internet for some ideas on what years to avoid. I know the Hemi 5.7 makes a LOT of power. What I am worried about is the fact that it is a diesel engine.
I'm looking for a truck with all wheel drive, not sure if the Ram has all wheel drive. I would like to go with the 5.7 and maybe the Cummins 6.9L in it. It would be a good size truck. I'm looking at the Ram 1500 Quad Cab HD and the Ram 2500 Crew Cab Quad Cab HD.00, but there are no models that I want to buy yet.
I know there is a model year for a while back, so which year should I avoid? Also, I'm not sure what all the different options mean on the trucks. For example, the Quad Cab HD has a 5.7 Hemi, the HD with a Cummins 6. What does the HD mean?
I hope this makes sense. Thanks. Answer: There is no specific model year to avoid. This is a general question, which should apply to any vehicle. There are several variables that come into play when selecting a new truck. Some of these variables include, but are not limited to:
Price. Engine. Drivetrain. Trim. Options. Body Style. Fuel Economy. The first thing you should consider is price. As mentioned, there are many variables to consider when purchasing a truck. One of those variables is the price of the vehicle. While the engine and drivetrain can be costly, they can also be affordable. Most of the time, an increase in the engine and drivetrain can lead to a price increase.
As for the engines, both the 5.7 Hemi and the Cummins 6.9L have their advantages and disadvantages. The Hemi has a reputation for being a high-performing engine, but it is very fuel-inefficient. The Cummins has the reputation for being fuel-efficient, but it is not as high-performing as the Hemi.
How much weight can a Ram 1500 V8 pull?
I need to buy a ram 1500 V8 4x4 and is it worth it for the 3.5 inch tires, I have used ford trucks in the past and the 4 wheel drive is great if u dont go too much off road, I was just wonderin what weight of cars can pull that much and how much is it worth it for me or just sell it. This truck will be doing about 1,000 miles a month for work and I would like to add some weight and the 4x4 will be used by my wife.
This will not work with your situation unless you're in a snow belt area. You'll have more traction in any snowy areas than on dry ground where your tire's traction will exceed your weight.
I did a quick search on line and found that the Ford F150 V8 will do up to a 6,000 lbs towing capacity, which is a lot. The Ram 1500 with an automatic transmission will tow 4,500 pounds (with a trailer).
Tow a little under 1,200 lbs with a Ford F150 or Chevy Silverado or Suburban. If you tow with a GMC with an 8L diesel you can go up to 2,100 lbs. i have a Suburban that pulls around 4,500 pounds behind a boat trailer.
I had a 2026 Suburban before I sold it and it could pull up to 5,000 pounds with the rear axles at full lock, it was rated tow up to 6,000 but that was in Michigan with poor pavement and dry soil. I pulled 4,300 pounds off of it when I was done with it.
A 2026 Ram 1500 5.0L diesel with an automatic transmission (the best engine tow weight with) will tow around 3,200 to 3,500 pounds.
With a 4x4 in locked position you should be fine with a small capacity trailer. This will not only provide you with some extra security, but it will also give you peace of mind. I would go with a GMC Yukon over the GMC Sierra that are both heavier than the Ram because you need as many pounds of weight to pull as possible. The Yukon will pull between 2,000 and 2,600 pounds with a trailer while the Sierra is rated at 2,000 pounds.
What is the most common problem with the 2021 Ram 1500?
Most often, problems are the result of the customer not following the owner's manual. How to solve this problem? The most common solutions include cleaning the vents and air filter, replacing worn belts or brakes, changing spark plugs or timing, replacing a worn clutch, or resealing engine coolant system. Why do I get error code B10? A B10 code is due to a fault with your airbag, such as the inflator or gas bottle. It is a temporary condition that will clear itself after a few minutes of driving.
What is the most common problem with the 2026 Ford Explorer? Possible causes include a damaged battery, faulty radio, or a faulty connection in the dashboard, among other possibilities. How to fix this problem? You can take your vehicle to a trusted mechanic for a diagnosis. If you notice problems with your car when you are driving, pull off to the side of the road and call the authorities. You should never be the only driver on the road.
When I turn on my car, it starts up but won't go into gear. This could mean a problem with the transmission, transmission cooler, transmission control module, or the vehicle's electronic control unit. It can also be caused by an electrical component, a damaged belt, or a faulty ignition module.
It's always a good idea to contact a mechanic for a diagnosis before continuing to drive the vehicle. If the vehicle stalls while in gear, turn off the ignition and remove the key. This is usually a safe action.
I turn on my car, the dashboard display doesn't work. The powertrain control module (PCM) might be bad, or there could be a problem with the wiring harness. Your vehicle could have a faulty control module, but it can also be fixed.
I turn on my car and it shuts off. Your vehicle may have an electrical problem. The battery, fuel line, or electrical system might be leaking. Turn off the ignition, and see if you can get the vehicle back to life. If the problem persists, call a mechanic for a diagnosis.
I turn on my car and it won't start.
