Is 2019 Tacoma a good year?
As Tacoma's economy rebounds from the Great Recession, we asked our panel of experts: Is 2026 a good year for Tacoma? The panel consists of the leaders of five city and county organizations that have a stake in economic development: the Tacoma Economic Development Corporation (TEDC), the Tacoma-Pierce County Economic Development Council (TPEDC), the Tacoma Regional Chamber, the Tacoma Regional Economic Development Alliance, and the Tacoma Housing Authority. We asked them to grade the economy as a whole, on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is the best. Here's what they came up with: City and County. Ted.com/Tacoma Ted.com/Pierce Tacoma Chamber. Tacoma Economic Development Alliance. The overall economy is a 7.com/Tacoma We agree. The local economy is booming and it shows.
We're also encouraged by the fact that the region is experiencing more jobs than we did at this time last year. Unemployment in Pierce County is down slightly to 3.3 percent.
It's still a long way to go, but the improvements we've seen in the local economy bode well for our future. How we did. This is not a surprise. We were already expecting the economy to improve, thanks to several factors: A surge in manufacturing, which has been the heart of the recovery. Increased interest in the region as a destination. A rebound in residential real estate. Manufacturing is a big driver. In fact, we were the first region in the country to see a return of manufacturing jobs in the Great Recession.
The industry has picked up steam since the start of 2026. And if you look at the graph above, you'll see the trend line continues to go up.
Manufacturing has been strong in Tacoma for years, and this year it seems to be accelerating. While the number of jobs in the region is less than it was in 2026, our industry has returned in a big way.
This is reflected in a report released last week by the U.S.
What year of Tacoma to stay away from?
I would stay away from the new year of Tacoma. A lot of buildings have been torn down recently and other things are being added. Its going to be a mess for a while. This was going to be my next town I think I will pass on it for a while, but maybe later when its settled down.
Well, if you want any info about Tacoma or any other place, we have some great threads over at my favorite city. If you're looking for new places or something specific to visit, we can help you out there.
I'd be interested in hearing why you'd stay away, or where you're looking to move to. If you mean the entire area of Tacoma, then probably the early 1900's because of the many fires that burned during that period. It did indeed take many years before people wanted to live in Tacoma again. You can read more about this on our page here.
I'll second the 1900s thing. I'm not looking to move anywhere specific, but I won't get a new house built, or anything else, until the area has been cleaned up. The worst of it is the land near the river. We have a lot of homeless camps in that area.
What were they doing when the area was a good neighborhood? It's not so much that it's a homeless community, it's more that those areas were neglected by the city. They were abandoned and neglected by everyone. That's what led to the homeless camps in the first place.
This is what I'm talking about. That's what started everything. The people living there were just trying to make it out of the area, so the city took control of it and tore it all down. There are only a few buildings left now.
How much does a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 cost?
I am thinking about buying a Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I have never owned a truck before and I want to know how much this truck will cost. I am only looking at the cheapest options that will get me there.
I am also wanting a diesel engine. Do I need a diesel or can I get it with the gas engine? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Brian. SPONSORED LINKS. Do you. Have the same question? Sponsored Questions. 2
1 Reply. I have seen trucks with a 5.7L, which is a great engine and I think that it's your best bet. Diesel engines are not that common in most trucks so if you're looking for a diesel engine, you might have to find it on a different brand of truck. There are many possibilities out there. Just keep looking around to find what's best for you.
