What is the difference between the 5.7 Hemi and the 5.7 Hemi eTorque?
So what's the difference between the 5.7 Hemi and the 5.7 Hemi eTorque?
They are the same engine with different tuning, the Hemi was built for use with the "eTorque" system. Hemi/Etorque was meant to have a high-revving engine (it's named Hemi because of the large bore of the engine). It had a larger displacement, smaller compression ratio, a better cam profile, and a higher peak power than the stock engine.
In theory, if the engine were tuned properly, it would be a very fast engine. However, in practice, it is not fast enough to be on par with the much more popular Camaro Z28.
The Hemi has a smaller compression ratio, meaning it can make more power without producing as much detonation. The larger bore also reduces detonation, making it a little smoother.
In the Hemi, the cam profile is designed for detonation, while in the eTorque, it is designed for smoothness. This is why the Hemi can have a stronger torque curve, while the eTorque has a stronger horsepower curve.
Both engines use the same heads, pistons, and lifters. However, the Hemi uses a larger intake plenum and larger throttle body.
The Hemi also has an external oil pump, which makes it easier to work on. This pump is also used in the ZL1.
The Hemi has a larger cam and a larger camshaft. This is why it has a stronger torque curve and a stronger horsepower curve.
The Hemi also uses a larger plenum to make it easier to work on. In both engines, the valves are cast in the head. However, the Hemi has a single rocker arm, while the eTorque has two rocker arms. This makes it easier to work on the Hemi.
The Hemi has a different exhaust system. While the eTorque uses the stock exhaust, the Hemi has a larger, more aggressive exhaust system.
In the Hemi, the intake plenum has a smaller area, which helps keep the engine clean. The eTorque has a larger intake plenum, so the engine is less likely to become dirty.
What is the Ram 1500 Hemi eTorque 2023?

The most powerful engine in the full-size pickup market will be on display for the very first time at 2023's Oshawa Super Truck Show, and if you're looking for a truck with all the right stuff, chances are Hemi eTorque was built into the vehicle.
The eTorque 2023 is essentially the 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 HEMI eTorque. This is a supercharged 6.6-liter V-8 producing 573 horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. Of torque.
It's the same powertrain used in the Ram 1500 and a number of Dodge's other models. It's essentially a more fuel efficient version of the HEMI V-8 currently found under the hood of the truck.
The Hemi eTorque will make its debut at Oshawa 2023, likely not long after the Dodge Stinger will be unveiled on November 7 at the 2023 Detroit auto show. Why Should I Care About a Hemi? Most enthusiasts love the iconic nameplate that still conjures up images of the legendary 'big-block' V-8s of the past. This is an engine that has long been synonymous with Dodge Power Wagons, and if you've watched vintage American muscle car TV shows like American Hot Rod and Roadkill, you've seen it tear up and down the autocross course and run rings around anything else on the road. While there are plenty of modern versions of this iconic brand of power and performance, it just isn't the same. There is also a mystique to Dodge's heritage that has helped keep this powertrain alive and in high demand. With that said, the Hemi eTorque is the most powerful engine available in a full-size truck that's likely to ever see the light of day, and we're not talking about a mere 300 horsepower or 500 lb. torque here. It's a performance powerhouse, no question about it. If you're curious what kind of numbers a Hemi eTorque can put up, take a look at these numbers: First, a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds should get your attention. Not everyone will think the Hemi eTorque has the potential to get that fast. But at least it makes a statement.
Is 2023 Ram 1500 eTorque reliable?
Recommended Posts. Hello there. My brother just bought a 2023 Ram 1500 with eTorque and I'm interested in getting him a more powerful eTorque. If he has an eTorque on it now will he be able to install a 4.0L V8 with eTorque? Or will he have to get a Ram 1500 with the 4.7L V8? I'm looking at the 4.7L but I'm not sure if it's reliable. My brother has one in his 2023 Toyota RAV4 with a V6. Any opinions? Thanks for the help
Share this post. Link to post. Share on other sites. Ive got a ram 1500 with a 4.7 that I've had for about 5 years. Ive put about 35k miles on it and it's been flawless. I believe eTorque is a safe technology but you do run the risk of having to replace the motor at some point and having to install the motor from scratch. Make sure you're not going into it without a full understanding of how to properly install the eTorque motor.
We have a 2023 Silverado with a 4. With 100,000 miles the check engine light came on. The motor would make a clicking noise coming on. The truck was towed to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it so they told me it was a free loaner until they could find a reason for the problem. I changed the oil and filter, and they told me the engine was good to go.
The 2023 Ram 1500 eTorque is going through maintenance now because I think the software was updated and the new model will be available soon.
