The 2.0 was lighter by 875 pounds and produced the same amount of power as the 1.0 isn't even in the same weight class. I would rate the fuel economy on the 2025 1.0 Ecoboost between the 2010-2014 2.0L and the 2006-2009 2.

There is also a slight torque reduction between the 2.0L and 1.0L engines. This means the 2.0 will not rev as high and will take longer to accelerate because of the low torque. The main things I look for in reliability are: How many times has the car been recalled due to a safety defect? Is there any bad history of the car from the previous owner? The Focus has a reputation for being reliable, but you really have to read reviews carefully before you buy one. I'll add my link to the bottom of this post. You might want to start at the top and work down. If a customer complains about reliability issues, they're likely to be replaced by the dealer. The first generation and second generation were built on Ford's "quality-to-cost ratio" philosophy and they have proven themselves over the years.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I do think you'd be wasting your money. You'd get much better reliability from a Honda Accord.
