What is the average value of an RV?

What is the average value of an RV?

I'm an RVer who is getting ready to buy my first RV. I want to know the average value of an RV, or how much it would cost to buy one today. Is there any good data to help me with that? As long as you've been an RVer that is a perfectly reasonable question. It's not something to get the first estimate on before you decide on a purchase.

You're looking at a 20' 5th wheel type vehicle. If you need more space, you can go to a 40' model. If you need towing, hookups and awning, then a 40' or larger model makes more sense than a 20'.

There are no average figures, but the range of values can vary quite a bit from brand to brand. They come in all sizes and shapes, some have a full kitchen and bath, some are very basic, some have all the bells and whistles. All depend on the buyer's personal preferences. There is no one-size-fits-all model. I recommend doing lots of research and visiting different sites to make sure you've chosen what you really want.

There is a forum on here that has quite a few threads about different models of RVs. You may find that they will share their experiences.

Here is a thread about prices and brands. It is a good start and has a lot of information.

The following is the best place to ask. Ask at the campground or local travel/cruise plaza. That's where most of your sales will happen. Then go to Rvshare. It's a very good online community that you can join. It's free. Go there and search for similar models to your intended one. Make a list. Then you have a good place to start.

Forums is a very good place to start. There are many manufacturers that post their vehicles for sale. You can start with those and narrow it down from there. It's pretty common for dealerships to sell a vehicle and still have it listed on a second or third hand website.

Most of us that get started with RVing do so as a hobby, it's just too expensive of a venture to do so as a career.

Do fifth wheels have good resale value?

I am considering buying a new fifth wheel. I will be buying it as my wife and I plan on using it as a camper. We do not plan on taking it off the road, we do plan on parking it in our driveway for the winter.

I am interested in buying a used fifth wheel and I have been told that they usually sell for less than brand new. How true is this? I have heard that they have good resale value. My wife and I were looking at one at the local dealers, but when I asked if they had any used models, they said no.

They are a little pricey and if I decide to buy one, will I be able to resell it for the same amount of money as I would if I purchased it brand new? I also was wondering if I should wait a little longer before I purchase one. My next trip is planned for the fall and I was just wondering how much I would have to pay for one now.

When went camping this past weekend, I looked up 5th wheels and discovered that there is a lot of variety and that they are built like a luxury car. "You are the only thing you can't buy. You're the only thing that'll never go out of style. And if you don't know that by now, then you'll never know." - The Smiths

"It doesn't matter how good you are. Or how bad you are. What matters is how good you want to be." - Muhammad Ali

"One day you'll realize that everyone's got a story, they're all a part of something much bigger than themselves. A part of something so grand, so incomprehensible, it really is like we're all a drop in a limitless ocean." - Neil Gaiman

"If you're doing something you don't want to do, you're doing something wrong." - Dr. Seuss

"We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through love, friendship, and service can we connect. Our lives become our legacies." - Steve Maraboli

"What we've got here is a failure to communicate. So, uh, let's try it again in English." - Animal from the Muppets

My husband and I had a 5th wheel for a few years and it worked out great.

How do I find the value of a fifth wheel camper?

nada rv values 5th wheels How do I find the value of a fifth wheel camper?

The fifth wheel camper is connected to the frame of the vehicle and can be used to raise the rear of the vehicle off of the ground. The camper can also be used to lower the vehicle.

If your vehicle does not have a fifth wheel camper, you will need to purchase one. They are available at most dealerships and some online vendors. They are not expensive, and they last a long time.

Some of the 5th wheels that I have seen are very similar to a regular trailer. Others are totally different. I have no idea how you would figure out which one you have. Most 5th wheels come with instructions on how to use them. Just look for instructions, the manufacturer's website, etc.

The cost of a fifth wheel camper varies widely. It really depends on what you are looking for in a camper. If you don't care about weight, I'd just get something cheap. If you want to use it for longer trips, I'd look at a heavier camper.

I have no idea how you would find out which one you have. I would guess that you could use the serial number to look it up. If you do that, be prepared for a long wait.

What class is a 5th wheel camper?

I was thinking of building mine in the next few months. Its just I have no clue what it is or where to even start. Does anyone here have any information or have build it? It sounds like a pretty simple thing but I haven't seen any good sites on how to do it!

My wife wants one for my birthday or Christmas (I am not sure which) next year. We are going on an overnite in August. She wants it to be comfortable, so we both want to look at a model that has the bathroom built in. My first thought was a 5th wheel camper with a slide out for the front bunk bed. If you get the bunk bed I think you have to get the slide. I have heard from other people that the front bunk is more comfortable than the rear one.

We also don't plan to take it out on the highway very often, it would be almost all highway and overnight trips only. We use it as a weekend trip spot.

So, any help would be great! I also would like to know more about them. What is a slide out for? How is it better than a pop up? What's the difference between those and a popup? So after looking at some of the pictures, I guess I see where you guys are going with this. I had already talked to my wife about doing something like this if she wanted it. So, I am really curious as to what I am looking at. Are those what you mean by a pop-up? And what is a slide out?

I have built it myself and also rented many over the years. First thing I did was buy a trailer. It was a cheap little 15 ft. Double wall trailer. The door was on the side of the trailer instead of the back. It was quite a bit easier. Also looked into those that have slides because I like to camp with my dog. They are way more comfortable. I used a pop up with a slide out tent/camper and it was fine for us as the dog had his own space. A sliding model will give your dog's space too. Also helps avoid waking up in the middle of the night to dogs barking.
