How much is a Challenger TA 392?

How much is a Challenger TA 392?

What does 392 mean on a Dodge Challenger?

This is a discussion on ? within the General Discussion forums, part of the Classifieds and Cars Groups category; Originally posted by: chilima. Is it the engine size? Thanks for . I have a '79 Dodge Challenger S/C that was built in March of 1979. When I purchased it, it had a 392 engine (4.9:1) that was rebuilt about 15 years ago. It currently has a 3.08 rear end that was also rebuilt about 15 years ago.

The current owner says it has a 4.8:1 rear end. I have had a lot of problems with this car. When the engine was first rebuilt, it had a few very minor problems. The current owner told me the last time it was rebuilt, the clutch was replaced. He also said the transmission was replaced, but he didn't know when it was replaced. The original transmission had been replaced at some point, but he didn't know exactly when. He said he replaced it when the original one "broke" during the rebuild, but didn't specify exactly when. The car has been driven a lot since it was first owned by a couple of people. I know it's not a new car, but it was the only vehicle I had available to drive, so I purchased it.

When I brought the car home, I took it out for a little ride to get used to it. About 10 minutes after I started the car, the transmission would shift from 2nd to 4th and back to 2nd, and the car would lurch forward or back. The car was never out of park or neutral. I don't know if the previous owner had these problems or if they were repaired at some point. After a few minutes, I would get the shift into gear again. It would happen every time I would drive it, except for a few times when I would let it idle. I finally called a local transmission repair shop and had them tow it to them.

The first thing the tech did was replace the valve cover gasket and the oil pan gasket. The tech didn't replace the valves or anything, just the gaskets. He told me that my valve cover was warped and needed to be replaced. He also mentioned the "pump" was probably shot.

How much is a Challenger TA 392?

How much does a Porsche 911 Carrera S weigh?

I'm thinking of buying a TA 392 this month. It's a wonderful, classic car with an outstanding pedigree and a beautiful appearance.

However, I need to know just how much money I will be putting into it, to see if it makes financial sense. Here's what I know so far: The car is in excellent condition, with 100,000 miles on the clock. It's one of the very best examples of this rare sports car, and it's the original owner.

It has a VIN number that is very similar to my dream car - a 1965 Porsche 911 Carrera S. The car comes with a factory warranty, which is very unusual these days. It's a "driver" model (no trailer hitch), but it does come with electric windows, power steering and air conditioning.

I can buy the car right now, or wait until closer to Christmas.

How much horsepower does a TA 392 have?

challenger ta 392 How much horsepower does a TA 392 have?

I just purchased my first T/A 392 to be my daily driver, and I'm curious how much horsepower does this engine make. I've looked at the motor specs online but I'm not really sure what I'm looking at, it's all a little confusing.

I'm planning to drive this car around town a few times before I take it to the track, so I don't want to go to the trouble of rebuilding it just to find out I need a bigger radiator. I'm only going to use this car on public roads and around town for short trips, I won't be doing any racing or autocrossing with it. I'm interested in knowing the exact power output of this engine because I plan to get a few more later this year and I want to know how much horsepower I can expect from them before I purchase them. Not exactly. If you had an engine that made a minimum of 3000 hp it would be a better gauge.

That's only one of the variables.

What does TA on a Challenger mean?

I want to upgrade my current Challenger SE to a 2025 TZ8 and I'm torn between the TD8 or TI like the TD8 for the extra storage, but there's something about the TA that I just like better. The TD8 has a lot more interior room, and the same amount of cargo space but not as much rear legroom. Both cars seem very similar to me except for the TD8 has a little more interior storage, bigger rear wheel wells, and a higher ride height. Is there any way to tell what the interior of the TA is like? I've heard people say that the TA has better features, such as adjustable driver seat, and rear seat heaters. I really like the TD8 but I would really like to know if I'll be able to get a lot more comfort and space with the TThere is a thread about the differences between the two models at

I have the TD8 with the 10" wheels and the front seats are not as high as on the TI also like the ability to remove the seats to haul stuff in the trunk when the seats are removed. The TD8 does not have any interior features not available on the TBut you are correct that the TD8 has a little more interior space. When I was looking at the new model year TD8 vs. TA, there was a big discussion about the rear seat heaters. They were only available on the 2025 TD8, but in 2025 the TD8 came standard with the new TU-style seat belts that worked much better than the earlier style. A lot of folks who had the early style seat belts preferred the new style.

I bought a new 2025 TD8 at the end of 2025 and did not care for it. After I got it, I discovered it needed the front passenger door trim. My dealer never told me about it. I had to take it to another dealer to get the door trim fixed. Other than that, I think I could live with it. Now I'm getting closer to a 2025 TZ8. There are still some things to be fixed, but it seems to be going well.
