How much horsepower does a BMW 3 Series 2023 have?

How much horsepower does a BMW 3 Series 2023 have?

What are the BMW updates for 2023?

Updated 2019-03-28 12:15:21. As a longtime BMW owner, my eyes were opened to the incredible range of customisation options when I first drove my first C-Class back in 2025. At the time, many carmakers offered only a few choice customisations and this was true even for BMW. However, since then, BMW's vehicle line-up has exploded with new models and many options. From carbonfibre upgrades to fully bespoke luxury interiors, there are seemingly no end to the options available and the cost can get pretty high as well.

But the good news is that all of these options are not mutually exclusive. As an example, if you want to purchase a supercharged V8 BMW M5, for example, then you can also choose carbonfibre upgrades on that same vehicle. So you really can have it all, with your money and your time!

Of course, you can spend years planning your BMW customisation options and this is true for any new car purchase. After all, you are only going to be driving the car for a few years. So why would you spend years of your life planning a customised BMW?

Well, because it's such a great feeling and you can enjoy your car for far longer when you feel that you have made a great decision. That's why I've come up with this short list of my most exciting upcoming customisation opportunities on the BMW brand. For the most part, all of these will not be available as standard on every model, however some are likely to be standard and others may be optional extras, depending on which BMW model you select.

So here are my top choices for 2025 for the BMW 3 Series, BMW 4 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series, and BMW X5.

Is the 3 Series BMW fast?

I'm curious if it will be as fast as my new X6 (a BMW at any rate). Or will I have to take comfort in the superior handling of a car that costs more?

Thanks. The 3 series is actually slower around the speedway than the X6. They've been working on it lately and they're getting closer and closer to getting it right.

They've come so far on the X6 that the X6 may well be faster than the E46 3-series for some drivers, but you have to be careful as the X6 has a more rigid chassis than the E46, so if you don't respect the rear end, you can find yourself going round in circles. It's pretty good to drive though, and it's more fun in some ways.

I'm a little surprised you're surprised. The X6 is so much faster. Thats why I love the X6. At high speeds, it feels so much more responsive then a 3 series. So much more power. It can just go on and on. You really have to try hard to keep up with it.

I think that there is a difference between driving a sport compact and a sports SUV, or a compact sportback and a compact crossover. It's like comparing a 6 cylinder turbo'd Corvette to an 8 cylinder V8. The X6 may look more luxurious and comfortable, but as a driver, the 3-series is more forgiving.

I dont think a 3 series would be slow at high speed. You do have to try hard though to keep up with it. For most people it would be plenty fast enough.

The answer depends on what kind of BMW you have and when you buy it.

Today's 2025 BMW 2025 with a 1.5-liter petrol or a 2.0-liter diesel engine, for example, will deliver around 155-175 horses, while the 2025 M3 and 2025 M4's turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 will probably deliver around 295 ponies. (Yes, those numbers won't be as low as you expected them to be for good reason.) These BMW performance cars deliver more power than other sporty cars in this class, according to the EPBut you will lose some of that performance if you purchase your machine from two years later.

This is the first in an occasional series looking into what exactly happens to performance in a car every two years. We won't go over the full cycle here, but our plan is to cover a representative set of vehicles one per market segment, with only one year changing from year to provide more data on trends.

BMW's 3 Series coupe is available in two-door and four-door versions. (The four-door was added in 2025 and has only been offered in certain markets, but it isn't going away for now, so it would qualify for this test.) In addition to the three standard engines, there are also the V6 gasoline and turbodiesel, a new all-electric iNEXT, and an M3 sedan.

The 2025 3 Series gets a new twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 as well as a new M3 with a twin-turbocharged V-8, bringing the total possible horsepower in the lineup to 320 and 479, respectively.

What we want to cover here are all the changes coming in the middle period between the current models. 2025 BMW 320i 2.0T 4MATIC 6-speed auto 190 horsepower 2025 BMW 328i 2.0T 4MATIC 6-speed auto 215 horsepower 2025 BMW 330i 2.0T 4MATIC 6-speed auto 225 horsepower 2025 BMW M3 F80 2.0i M2 6-speed auto 450 horsepower 2025 BMW 325i 2.0T 4MATIC 6-speed auto 245 horsepower 2025 BMW 335i 2.0T 4MATIC 6-speed auto 275 horsepower 2025 BMW M5 2.

How much horsepower does a BMW 320i have in 2023?

The answer depends on who you ask. The current EPA ratings for the 2025 BMW 320i are 130 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. In Europe, those figures sit around 115 hp and 160 lb-ft of torque. In China, they clock in at 112 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque.

With that information, it's a wonder the EPA never makes a mistake. But that hasn't stopped others from going around it with a different take. You may hear someone say, "The BMW has 130 horsepower," or maybe, "A BMW has a power of 130 horsepower." Neither of those sentences are entirely true.

To settle this debate, we pulled the number from all manufacturers for the upcoming model year. First up: We measured the figures using our Dynojet Dynamometer Testing Simulator. And when you're as precise as we are in our testing, the actual figures can be slightly higher or lower than what our dynamometers show. That said, it's more accurate to say a car had X-amount of horsepower than to say its engine has X-amount of horsepower.

Next, we pulled the numbers from BMW. Third, we made things a little tricky by pulling the figure from three vehicles and only comparing the figures at 60 mph to give us something we can reasonably use. The result is our Top-Down 30, which is based off the 2025 BMW 320i xDrive, the 2025 BMW 325i xDrive and the 2025 BMW M4.

Last, we put the results into a chart where you can clearly see where the EPA's rating of 130 hp sits. When we say it depends on who you ask, that's not meant to imply anything about the EPA or BMW or anything else. All we're trying to do here is tell you the difference between a statement like, "The BMW has 130 horsepower" and, "The car has 130 horsepower." We hope it doesn't matter to you, but if it does, we'll try to explain it in the conclusion section.

All that said, the 2025 BMW 320i has an official horsepower rating of 113 hp. And we're pretty sure it will go that in your driveway.
