Will it be replaced by a new model year? Which one? Will it include the popular 2.7L EcoBoost engine?

We are expecting to see the final version of the 2025 Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 pickup trucks released next month at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show. So what will the new trucks offer? We are sure they will introduce a powerful EcoBoost engine option for 2025, as well as an advanced, safer all-electric powertrain.

The most significant vehicle change we expect to see is the end of the gasoline powered Ram 1500/2500 truck. The 2025 Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 will be the last vehicles to roll off the assembly line in North Carolina, marking a long awaited end to a program that began back in 1992. The last two years of the 2025 models will be the last vehicles produced, and all the remaining inventory will soon be shipped to the distributor.

A big milestone, which is very important for the dealer channel, is when all the Ram pickups are gone from the assembly line, said John McElraith, a representative for the Ram brand at the recent Chicago Auto Show. It's very important for the dealer channel to have that assurance that they're part of something so good and they're guaranteed that there will be a pickup available next year, because they're selling the same number of units.

The end of the Ram 1500 marks a change for the brand, and McElraith said Ram intends to shift the company toward more of a pickup focus, much like FCA did with the Chrysler minivans. The all-new 2025 Ram 1500 is expected to hit the market first, before the mid-size Ram 3500 and heavy duty Ram 3500. We expect a complete redesign of the truck, featuring an entirely new chassis and undercarriage, as well as an advanced infotainment system that should be comparable to other vehicles in its segment.

The upcoming 2025 Ram 1500 is expected to go on sale later this year, and will likely hit showrooms during the third quarter of 2025. While the previous model was available in three cab/chassis combinations, a total of four cabs/chassis packages are planned for the upcoming 2025 Ram 1500. A two-door, two-passenger short box model will also likely be offered for compact pickup customers.

If it helps, I have a 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I saw a video showing how the Ram's engine is pretty much all-wheel drive. When the Ram gets out of gear, it shifts to the transfer case. A typical truck does this all at once, but the Ram seems to shift only when you turn.

That being said, I would be surprised if this 4.5L engine is that good with a full-size bed. Perhaps it could be, but I doubt it.

The "full size" bed is not very big. It's about 7 ft long by 5 ft wide. The tail gate is on the opposite side.

I have no idea if the Ram will shift at an odd angle of the wheel, but I did see a video of a 2025 Ram 1500 4x4 (one of the ones with the big battery behind the back of the seat, maybe the 2500 HD) driving around in an arena or something. It was going pretty fast, and when it went around a corner, you could see the front wheels turn, but the back wheels stayed straight as if they were on solid ground.

The 4.5L V8 is pretty good with a full size bed.

My '95 Ford F-250 diesel will do around 45-50 mpg average city and highway. I can get 37 mpg by cruising at 55-65 mph.

I think Ram's are good. I've owned a 2025 Ram 3500HD (2.7 8V) and a 2025 Ram 3500 4x4 (2.7 6.0). Both were excellent trucks, but as far as handling and power, the 3500 4x4 was the best overall. I've owned a 2025 Ram 3500HD (2.7 8V) and a 2025 Ram 3500 4x4 (2.0).

The 2.7/8V is a fairly recent engine, but the performance of that engine has never been as good as the 6.

This engine uses our 5.7-liter cast aluminum head and block. As for the horsepower, well, you can call it anything you like, but we just gave it that name so no one else will use it.

When we designed this engine, we focused on the following points: The 5.7 Hemi was the original Ford product line. This engine has been around since '34. You can find a 3.6-liter diesel version here, but our new engine has a cast-aluminum head and a steel main deck;

To minimize heat soak, we made the cylinders as narrow as we could with the shortest possible deck length;. With the current emphasis on performance, why spend hundreds of dollars to put a cast-aluminum head on a steel block when all we need to do is change the cylinder sleeves in the deck? Why not run a forged block and make the cylinders narrower than they are now? We wanted to build a real race engine, but we also wanted to be economical. This way, the customer doesn't have to throw money away on a better block and larger engine oil pan.

What other features does this engine have? We have tried to pack everything you need in a Hemi into this engine. But the reality is, we didn't put any bells or whistles on the engine. If we put a heavy-duty cooling package on it, it would be very expensive, but the engine still wouldn't make enough horsepower to be truly competitive. We built this engine for street, not racing.

We did, however, put a camshaft on it that features a roller-type lifter. It runs about 25 degrees hotter than a flat-tappet camshaft and will last at least 100,000 miles before having to be replaced. We also changed the valves to use higher lift. Now the valves are opened to their largest height at lower RPMs and then dropped to the smallest size at higher RPMs. This has the effect of raising the RPM for each valve from 2025 to 2700 RPM. These valves are rated for 200 hp at 2025 rpm.

How much is the 2024 Ram 1500?

Well it depends on the market, trim, and your options. Depending on what you load in to the bed of the Ram 1500 you can make your vehicle pretty cheap or costly as you build it up.
