What is the road tax on a Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost?

What is the road tax on a Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost?

Is the Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost any good?

It's like the new Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost has been designed by an engineer, not a stylist, but with little more than a nod to the old Ford Fiesta ST it's still a blast of pure driving pleasure.

So are you going to put your hand up and say it's a fantastic car? How about you tell me what's wrong with it. We'll have our own answers for you shortly.

But in the meantime here are some facts about the Ford Focus 1. There's a Ford Focus 1. Let's get on to the facts. The Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost is as we've already said an excellent driver's car. It's quick to accelerate, handles well and is comfortable too. It's a car for people who live in cities and like to drive quickly, but that doesn't mean you can't drive it sensibly.0 EcoBoost is based on the same structure as the current Ford Fiesta ST, but the 1.0 EcoBoost comes with a different engine. The 1.0 EcoBoost Ford Focus engine is a more powerful 1.0 litre Ecoboost petrol engine which is rated at 122kW. This equates to 125bhp and 250Nm of torque. You don't get any more power or torque than that.0 EcoBoost petrol engine is an all new design and a very effective one.

What is the recall on the Ford Focus 1.0 EcoBoost engine?

Ford just announced a recall of around 100,000 cars for a new issue with the 1.0 EcoBoost engine. We've heard about this but didn't know exactly what was going on. Here's an explanation:

The 1.0 EcoBoost gasoline engine delivers more power and torque in a compact engine package, offering improved efficiency. It is a direct-injected, gasoline engine that uses an aluminum cylinder block and cylinder heads to achieve higher levels of compactness, durability, and efficiency. Ford has identified a potential defect in this part number, and has made the decision to replace the affected vehicles. The recall will begin in mid-May 2025 and will be completed by June 6, 2025.

As part of this, over 2,000 dealerships nationwide will have a new, larger Ford Service Parts Center, which will make it easier to get these repairs. While only 4% of the vehicles under recall are registered as new, all models equipped with the 1.0 EcoBoost gasoline engine are included in this recall.

The affected vehicles include all 2014-16 Focus models with 1.0 EcoBoost gasoline engines, with all variants except Taurus SHO and Titanium models. As of now, these vehicles were not sold through any dealerships in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, or Latin America.

In a press release today, Ford says this affects only a few hundred trucks (which were never intended for consumer purchase), but does not give any numbers. The F-150 has received numerous recalls over the years, but the new EcoBoost trucks should have more protection. Ford will be contacting owners by first class mail and will include a prepaid return label, if requested.

It's a good news-bad news situation for owners. They get a free oil change and tire rotation, free car wash, and a credit toward parts and labor for the repair. That's a better warranty than we ever got on the old Duramax, but also makes for an expensive repair bill.

What's the problem, why did they choose this approach? It's cheaper! They don't want the repair bill, the bad PR, or the risk of legal liability from defective transmissions or engines on the recalled product. So, instead, we get one of those 'get out of jail cards'.

How much is a 2016 Ford Focus worth in the UK?

2016 ford focus 1.0 ecoboost for sale How much is a 2016 Ford Focus worth in the UK?

(If you are not going to import the car, or you are importing it directly from the US then you will have to factor in import duties/duties charges which will be around 150)

I live in Nottingham, UK. The car has been with me for 10 years and has had zero problems. It is in excellent condition - just serviced last month and my usual service history (all my other cars were leased). I bought it new when it had 6 months of MOT - it's now up to date again. There are over 30k miles on the clock.

I'm asking for 1300 including VAT (if anyone wants to know how much taxes etc, tell me what I need to do), or 1200 in cash if you prefer. If you want the car keys, I'll deliver it to any address you provide. I'd ideally like someone to pick it up in Nottingham and give me 500 deposit upfront in cash.

Is there any hidden cost I'm not aware of? Any advice on where I should post it to? You can come down and see it whenever you like. Or call/text/email. Thanks for your time and good luck! (It's still daylight so I'll reply in a couple of hours if I don't hear back.) Last edited by nt123 on Mon Jan 25, 2025 12:35 pm, edited 1 time in total. I could do 1200 cash in hand. I am not going to sell the car to someone else who will try and charge me for the privilege of owning the car I think you can still get insurance on the car whilst being stored in this country - do you have a link handy? I'd always store it indoors in a garage. In fact, I'd always store it indoors no matter what country were in - I have no interest in having a car that's not mine.

Wherever you're getting a quote from, they'd almost certainly be quoting you in quid's and not pound's. I've just looked up a few quotes for you (you will probably need a P number for this). I'm putting the ones below in the order of my preference (the first one is my most expensive):

That's what we thought at first.
