How do I open an Autotrader account?
Is the Autotrader portal down?
It's not just Autotrader. The UK's leading car website and magazine is having problems with the website and app for its online platform.
The problem is that the site has been unavailable for at least a day now, and Autotrader is only one of many websites affected. The outage has occurred because of a combination of technical and human issues, Autotrader has said, but the site should be back up and running later today. Autotrader is a part of the Automobile Association and has more than 20 million monthly unique users. I've been seeing these annoying popups for ages - they even show up if you're watching a video on YouTube! - and I'm sick of them. I've changed my browser settings and the popups are still there, so how can I get rid of them? I'm not sure if it's a problem with my browser, as when I change the settings to block all popups and cookies, I get a popup from the BBC to let me know that I can block popups and cookies on their site. You're not alone. I was getting the same annoying messages for a few days now and I didn't know what to do.
Then I got a message on Twitter asking if I wanted to 'get rid of all popups' from their site and I clicked it.
How do I open an Autotrader account?
We are always seeking to better our processes for adding new clients to the Autotrader.com platform. In addition to expanding the use of credit cards, we are developing an easy-to-use and low cost way for companies to sign-up for a customer relationship program which will include access to Autotrader.com, as well as other online platforms.
How does the program work? The program has two main components, both of which are free. The first component is a web-based account signup form which companies can customize. We then verify their details via several different sources (PayPal, Billing information on credit cards, email responses, etc).
Once verified, companies will receive a password in the email they used to submit the signup form. This will allow them to log in to their new Autotrader.com account with a secure method. In addition, customers will have access to an autobuy area, where they can add a purchase as a 'job' on the Autotrader.com site. At this point, their job is 'under consideration' and when it's ready for approval, or if the job isn't approved after several attempts, they will be emailed an explanation of why it was declined. They will also be told if they are a preferred client (meaning they receive priority access and better rates) or if they're not a preferred client.
Why sign up? It's simple! You get better rates, and your clients gain access to our top rate shopping features. As part of our ongoing effort to lower prices, offering the AutoTrader.com marketplace has meant there's a very broad base of buying conditions.
What about price-matching and contract-free guarantees? We have a contract-free guarantee and we work hard to achieve it. We want our customers to enjoy Autotrader.com as much as possible. So, if you see a price advertised somewhere else, our guarantee gives you a fair and reasonable time frame in which you can notify us and we'll match it.
We also provide pricing matching, where we match prices from anywhere on the web. This is especially relevant when a client buys an item on Amazon (or any online retailer). Pricing matching will likely happen one of our other sites as well.
