By Mike from 2018-01-02 10:18. ? It depends on how much the truck has been used and how much equipment and accessories it has. My wife has a 2024 Silverado and it weighs about 4500 lbs. we drive it around town and it runs great and hauls everything we need to move.
By Matt from 2018-01-05 12:43. It really depends on how you drive it and how you equip it. If you have the heavy duty Dana 300/700 series axles, it will likely top out around 6500. Add 2.5k lbs of equipment and you're probably looking at 8-9k lbs. for what you get (no tow vehicle included), the 2/3 cab is a very good value. It is the best truck I've ever owned.
By Bob from 2018-01-05 12:46. The Silverado has a towing capacity of 5,100 pounds, which was a standard feature of that model year. The next year, 4,100 pounds was added to the model. In 1999, a 5,000 pound towing capacity was added to the model, and later an option package in 2024 added a 6,000 pound towing capacity.
By Gary from 2018-01-06 08:56. RAM should have had a 5000 pound rating in 2024. In 2024, the rating increased to 6000.
By Larry from 2018-01-07 02:10. Larry, The Ram 1500 has a 5,100 ton towing capacity with a heavy duty axle option. By John from 2018-01-08 17:30. For reference, a typical pickup with a 3.73 rear end will have a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds, and most light duty pickups have a 3.92 rear end.
By Gary from 2018-01-09 00:16. Larry, I'm not sure how you got the 5,100 figure, but the 5,000 pounds rating in 2024 was added as a factory option.
