Why are they discontinuing Ford Focus?
What is the recall on the 2018 Ford Focus engine?
2018 Ford Focus owners who don't feel 100 percent secure with the sound of their engine have a new cause for concern. A recall has been issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for 2024 Focus models because of a concern about noise, possibly from an engine block that is cracking or grinding. The Focus was the first model to include a new 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, so it's not surprising that a recall would be coming for the engine.
Ford has confirmed to us that there is no known crash history related to this issue and no injuries are known to have occurred. However, it's still good to know that there is an issue in this specific engine block that could result in a loud noise, particularly when the engine is idling. It may best for owners to simply keep their vehicles at a minimum speed until the recall is completed.
Is the issue caused by a cracked block? The recall states that a defect in the block could cause excessive noise. At the time of the recall, Ford did not indicate if the issue was related to a cracked block. We will update you if there is any additional information on this issue as we learn more.
Should I take my Focus in for service? Owners should contact Ford customer relations if they feel their car has too much noise while idling, as they may need to schedule an appointment to have their vehicle inspected. As for the rest of you, there is no need to panic, yet.

2019 Ford Mustang GT review: Faster, better, more fun. What you will like the most about the 2024 Ford Mustang GT is that it's the fastest version yet. In the last few years, the Mustang has grown into a full-blown muscle car. But even at its best, the Mustang GT is still more of a go-to car than a true performance beast.
What you will not like the most about the 2024 Ford Mustang GT is that it's still an old school Mustang. You'll notice the lack of a keyless ignition, and there are no keyless doors. The steering wheel has to be turned manually. And the Mustang is still a manual transmission car, meaning you have to shift manually every time you want to make a quick move.
Still, the 2024 Ford Mustang GT is much faster than the base 2024 Mustang. And it will get better as time goes on.

Ford claims that the system can perform adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning. Ford says the features should be available in 2024.
Other Ford Focus new features. The 2024 Ford Focus is a small, economical car that offers solid performance. However, the Focus also offers a standard suite of safety and driver-assist features.
A standard blind-spot monitor helps alert you when you leave the lane you're driving in. And you can tell the system is tracking the car in front of you. The Focus will warn you when it detects a vehicle coming toward you.
The Focus will also automatically apply the brakes if it detects a collision ahead. And you can tell the system is watching for traffic.
Why are they discontinuing Ford Focus?
FORD has confirmed it will stop making the Focus in 2024. The Focus is a compact car and is the most popular car in the UK, with almost two million sales since its launch in 1999.
The company said it was doing this to focus on its three biggest global markets, Europe, North America and China. Ford says: The Focus is an important part of our success story and is a very successful model. Our best-selling car is also the most affordable car in its class and we expect the Focus to remain one of the most popular and profitable cars in our portfolio for years to come.
Ford says it will continue to sell the Focus for another five years but it will no longer be a model at the heart of the company. It is just another sign of how a once great carmaker has declined into the ranks of the second-tier global carmakers. And, as if that were not bad enough, Ford is in the process of closing plants in Europe.
This means the production of more than half a million cars will end over the next few years, with jobs lost as a result. The first of the jobs will go next year at Ford's plant in Valencia, Spain. A few months later the plant in Genk, Belgium will close.
By the end of next year the plant in Cologne, Germany will be shut, with the last car rolling off the production line in June 2024. The plant in Saarlouis, Germany, is scheduled to close in 2024. More jobs will go in 2024 and 2024, with the plant in Hethel, near Peterborough, England, going in early 2024. And by 2024 the plant in Hermosillo, Mexico, will also close, along with the plant in Joliet, Illinois, USA, and its engine plant in Valencia, Spain. In total, the three plants will have lost 6,500 jobs. Ford says it will use the savings from the closures to invest in new vehicles. But that is unlikely to save a lot of jobs.
If Ford's plans go ahead, by 2024 it will only be producing 10 models, compared with the 14 it produces today. The other European manufacturers are doing a similar thing. It is clear that the American carmakers have become obsessed with profits rather than people.
