How much are old Honda Civics worth?
I am looking for a good price on an old Honda Civic, preferably the LX model. I have never been able to find a good deal one, mostly because it is basically a Honda Accord in disguise with all the Honda reliability. My question is, what is a good price to pay for an old Honda Civic? How much of a gamble will it be? Is there a better place to find good deals on these? There are several factors that go into value: quality, condition, age, options, modifications and maintenance. But it is tough to give an estimate.
In most cases you should be able to sell for more than what you paid but there are many factors that determine that. Most of the used ones are about that price.
The old 98s are usually the best value as they are the easiest to find, have the most mileage, and are a good shape. The 96s will be worth less. 95s are worth less than 98s. Even then, I'd think it's less than 10% of what you paid.
I know there's some confusion about the year, but I'm talking about the 97-2002 models with a V6 engine. So I guess it depends on the year, etc.
