How much HP does Cobb Tune add to Focus ST?

How much HP does Cobb Tune add to Focus ST?

How much HP does Cobb Tune add to Focus ST?

I was wondering if someone could tell me how much power gain (in hp) this tune is supposed to add? It's supposed to add 3hp, but I've seen it add as much as 12. How do you know what your car is making at a certain rpm? Are these numbers based on an OEM tune or are they supposed to be dyno proven? I was wondering if someone could tell me how much power gain (in hp) this tune is supposed to add? If it says 3hp and you are getting 12hp.T then I'm assuming that they are saying it's dyno proven, since it's a statement that you are getting 12hp.

Yes, dyno proven. I'd like to see someone post a dyno test of a Focus ST on the HP Tune. I'm waiting for the day when I can run an HP Tune.

From reading the posts in this thread, I'm getting the impression that the tuners are claiming that the HP Tune adds 3HP. Do they all have dynos showing this claim?

Which is faster, golf GTI or Focus ST?

It's going to be tough to make a fair comparison of two cars that are in this class. Both cars have the standard 3.6L 6 cylinder engine with either the GTI or the ST (Sport Technologies package) transmission on top of it. Other differences between the two cars include the GTI having an auto-only trans vs. The shift-by-wire trans in the ST, so you are dealing with two completely different platforms.

I haven't driven either car (yet), but I've been told there is very little difference in acceleration. The GTI with the 2.0-liter turbodiesel is rated at 200HP/200 lb-ft of torque, while the ST is rated at 210HP/198lb-ft (the last number on those figures is the maximum torque figures).

The GTI is said to accelerate quicker from a dead stop, and has slightly quicker shifting, but is also considerably smaller than the ST. How does this translate into a decision between the two? Which is the best balance of acceleration, handling and value for the money? Will the differences in power and torque between the 2.0-liter TDI turbo and the 2.0-liter turbo intercooled four-banger on the 2.0-liter direct injection (the Focus ST) be more or less than with the four cylinder turbo-diesels available in the GTI?

Is the GTI with its turbo six and supercharged four cylinders faster off the line than the 2.0-liter DOHC naturally aspirated diesel with a variable valve lift and direct fuel injection V6, or vice versa? Does either of them do one better at passing cars at traffic lights? It's tough to pick on these 2 as "faster" without actually driving them. If you mean which is the best value for the money, then I'd say the ST. The GTI is a really good choice if you want supercar pace at a less outrageous price, and the ST is good for a good driver who likes good performance, but doesn't want to pay for such performance with outrageous performance. In my own experiences, the GTI has a little more initial bite, but doesn't have better passing, and even when I'm passing the gas, the clutch isn't even noticeable. You'd have to drive them side by side to see which is which.

What is the 0 to 60 on the 2018 Focus ST?

2018 ford focus st specs 0-60 What is the 0 to 60 on the 2018 Focus ST?

Is the Focus ST's 0 to 60 time as fast as a GT86? Let's compare. The 2026 Focus is the first new hatchback from Ford since the Ford Focus RS came out in 2026. And with a new rear-wheel-drive layout under the skin, there have been some new tricks up its sleeve. How about its 0 to 60 mph time? First introduced in 2026, Ford's performance model, Focus RS was the best selling Ford of the last decade and its success was partly due to its 0-60 mph sprint being less than five seconds. The 2026 Focus ST though doesn't seem to be quite as quick when it comes to the same measure. Instead of a 6.2 second sprint, you can now get an average of 9.4 seconds with the 2026 model.

If you think that's pretty fast, then we have a video for you - you can watch it below. Ford Performance engineers claim the ST's 0-60 mph time has improved by 1.5 seconds since the last generation of Focus. To get this time you'll need around 11.7 seconds or a little over 112mph in a Focus, compared to almost 11.0 seconds and 113mph in the previous Focus. However, in the same time the 0-60 mph time has also improved to a respectable 8.8 seconds or 86.2 mph.

What does the improved sprint mean? The reason the Focus has been able to make such big strides is probably because of a redesigned five-cylinder engine which was made to run on ethanol fuel. That engine - a 2.0-liter EcoBoost - is available in other Ford cars. But on the Focus, you'll find three trims to choose from: Premium, Stonemist and Energi.

Ethanol is generally better for the environment than traditional gasoline but also means there isn't a huge amount of refinement on the gasoline-powered Focus. As a result, the 0-60 sprint is slower than the previous ones and this means the Focus ST is no longer quicker than a Toyota GT86.

Even so, if you want to be as quick as the old Ford, an all-electric Focus sounds like a good option as well as the next generation of Focus.

Is Focus ST faster than RS?

Focus ST is much faster in a straight line than RS. And RS has a lot of potential since it can be tuned for a wider range of power.

It is, but most people don't notice. For example, the 1/4 to 1/5 of a second increase in 0-60 with RS. With ST, it's less but still noticeable. At most, it's about half a second. But at low speeds, like around 50mph, you'll notice it.

I think that the RS gets a bump in the 0-60 because its torque curve is sharper and it takes more time to get going, whereas the ST is always "on", and has a quicker acceleration at higher speeds. I also want to add that the stock exhaust on a WRX/STi would make the difference between the RS and ST even more noticeable. On a STi, it sounds like a WRX, whereas on a RS, it sounds nothing like a WRX. The mufflers would have a big difference in sound between a stock WRX and a stock STi, even if they're not better.

Why? We are talking about two different cars with different power levels and very different driving characteristics. For me, the only difference between a WRX and a STi is in the sound. But that is something you should be able to make up for by installing some good parts.

I'm talking about performance. How fast does a car go from 0 to 60, how much can you push that car before you start spinning tires and what kind of sound does that make. For example, my WRX will do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds.

With the WRX, you can push it to like 180 before it starts to sound like a sports car with a loud exhaust. With the STi, you can do like 50-70mph before you have to start working on the sound.
