Is the Ram 5.7 Hemi a V8?

How much HP does a 5.7 Hemi Ram 1500 have?
.
The 5.7 liter Hemi is a very strong engine and it has plenty of HP, the only problem is finding a replacement engine. If you are looking for information on the 5.7 hemirevolution engine you are in the right place. The horsepower of the engine is very high, the horsepower may not be at the level of the V8 or GM but it is still pretty powerful for the class. You can see the dyno charts and the horsepower stats for more detail.
7 Hemi vs GM V8 - The differences between the GM V8 and the 5.7 hemirevolution engine have been significant over the last 10 years or so. The biggest difference between the two engines are the HP and torque ratings.7 has more horsepower and more torque than the V8. In general the GM V8 engines are the more powerful engines, they will take care of most of your needs and you will never need to worry about replacing them.7 Hemi's will handle just about anything you can put in front of them.
Powertrain vs Hemi - A Hemi will always better than a powertrain. Powertrains include transmissions, drivelines, fuel systems, cooling systems and the engine itself. The engine is often the weakest link in the powertrain because the drivetrain is designed to handle the worst conditions while the engine is designed to handle only the best. The GM V8 is built using tried and true technology that was originally developed over a long period of time. When you buy a new GM V8 it will almost always be an absolute pleasure to use. On the other hand, when you buy a 5.7 Hemi, it will almost never be as great as it should be. When you change out the old Hemi with a new 5.7 it may not be as good as it could be. The engine is the weakest part of the powertrain in the Hemi.e. The engine is very weak compared to the driveshaft, rear end and differential. Changing out the engine with a new one makes the difference even larger. A 5.7 Hemi is really a beast that needs some good maintenance and attention.
In general the 5.7 Hemi will cost less to maintain and is much easier to get parts for.7 Hemi's will always work longer than a V8 because of its low price and low maintenance.
What are the engine configurations on a Dodge Ram?
You might have read that a lot of trucks have two different configurations depending on the body. One says 1/2-Ton Regular Cab and another says Full-Ton Regular Cab. If this is the case, does it make sense? You have the 3.5-Liter Pentastar V6 engine but it offers more power if you ask for it. Isn't it a little silly for the manufacturer to offer such powerful engines for a light truck? Wouldn't it better to use all-electric or other more fuel-efficient vehicles?

The normal car doesn't need this kind of power on the road. They can get by with the engine but the heavy-duty trucks have different needs.
The difference between an SUV or Pickup Truck and its regular truck counterpart is the heavy-duty pickup requires a vehicle that can withstand the work it is designed to do. Vehicles with more payload also need a higher level of refinement. So what exactly can be said about Ram 1500?
Powertrain. A lot of the parts are the same on a standard heavy-duty truck. In addition to the engine that is also shared between both models the transmission system is a common unit for both. Even the brakes are the same on a heavy-duty truck. A big difference can be seen in the drive train. Standard vehicles come with a 44 drivetrain whereas heavy-duty trucks usually have a 34 drivetrain. This means that the truck only has one differential (as opposed to four on a heavy-duty truck).
Differential Assembly. This particular part will be different if you were to look at a regular and heavy-duty truck with a 34 drivetrain. When a 34 driveshaft is assembled you would not know that it was a three-and-four drivetrain at first. You could see the gears and think you were working with a conventional transmission but it really is a four-and-three drivetrain. The gears allow for two wheels to have input into the transmission without turning the front ones.

Is the Ram 5.7 Hemi a V8?
The Ram 5.7 Hemi is a unique engine in the Ram lineup. The powerplant is V8, but it looks like a Hemi and delivers the goods, too. But is it really a V8? We took the Ram 5.7 Hemi for a spin in our truck to find out.
We've driven the new Ram 5.7 Hemi and put together a video of our ride-along. The engine is smooth and quiet. Power is surprisingly strong. But the Hemi name is a bit of a misnomer. It's not really a Hemi at all, but rather a Ram-engineered version of Chrysler's supercharged 5.7-liter V8. It's basically a V8 with a camshaft designed to work with a supercharger, delivering more low-end torque than the standard Hemi's eight cylinders.
The Hemi is a good engine for a truck that wants tow or haul serious loads. It delivers respectable performance, yet won't break your back on the open road. The Hemi can be had with either a 10-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. With the automatic, the engine makes 467 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, and it's smooth and refined. The 6.4-second 0-60 time with the 10-speed is a truck-specific number. The torque converter makes for smooth acceleration. You won't get an instantaneous surge of power.
The Hemi is more than just a "big engine." With the automatic transmission, the engine delivers adequate torque at both high and low speeds. The transmission works well with the Hemi, as well. It's not the fastest transmission in the world, but it's a good match for the big engine.
With the manual transmission, the Hemi delivers a bit more low-end torque and offers the opportunity to get into the meat of the rev range with the engine and transmission working in harmony. It's not quite as smooth as the automatic transmission, but the manual transmission is a good match for the big engine.
With the Hemi, you'll get the standard engine-throttle mapping that you'd get with the standard engine, as well as a supercharger that delivers boost at lower engine speeds. It's all about peak torque.
But the Hemi isn't really a Hemi.
