The electric vehicle market is expanding. This year, Tesla alone is expected to sell more than 100,000 vehicles, compared with 55,000 last year. And that is just for electric vehicles. Ford and GM are also investing billions in battery and powertrain technology.

Ford is focusing on the next-generation electric vehicles that will be launched by 2026. By 2026, Ford plans to have two fully electric models and 10 electrified vehicles on the road. But the company's electric vehicles have already had a significant impact on the company. In fact, the 2026 Ford Mustang GT was the first Ford vehicle to get its range extended to about 200 miles on electric power alone.

Ford is also planning to introduce a new electric SUV and crossover at the North American International Auto Show in January. And it has a new electric crossover on the way.

I know that many people love to rag on the F-150, but it gets 40 mpg in heavy traffic. In my experience, I have found that the Maverick and the Explorer consistently get 35 mpg in heavy traffic.

So which is better? The 40 mpg or the 35 mpg? Which is really the better truck. I am not a Ford fanboy.

There is no way a 35mpg Maverick can have a tank. If you are pulling a fifth wheel in heavy traffic (and a lot of heavy traffic) you will need to fill it up at least twice. How many of you do that? Even if you are just filling up every 2 weeks, the truck will be getting gas for 3 months.

You don't need to fill it up every two weeks to get that kind of fuel economy. In fact, if you are using a regular unleaded fuel, I don't think you'd want to do that anyway.

If you take out the water heater, air conditioner, fridge, and other stuff, you can get a pretty good fuel economy from a 35mpg truck. In any case, I think Ford has improved the fuel economy with the new trucks, so your mileage will probably be higher than that. But I doubt that it would be by much.

I agree. I have a 4.6 T-Max, and get 35mpg easy.

But I've been driving Mavericks for years, and have never gotten more than 34mpg. Even when I was only pulling my boat trailer, never more than 34. Took me a year of driving the truck to realize what kind of fuel economy I was getting. Now I can actually get 35mpg and I know why. So far, it's the Ford that gets the best gas mileage. But the F-150 is much better to drive. I did a trip this past summer, and noticed I was only doing about 28mpg. I think I was pushing it a bit.

But I think the truck did as much as 38mpg. No way. And I like the F-150 better. But I never get 34mpg in a F-150. I'm sure there's a lot of factors.

What are the gas mileage ratings on each 2026 Ford Hybrid in "real world" driving conditions? Therefore my MPG is not the full 47. But I have a manual transmission and use a lot of Hwy miles as it's the best way to go. If you're also a Manual man, you'll need about 200 miles Hwy each way to reach 47mpg. Other ways it's possible to exceed 50mpg.

I personally think the Escape would be a better choice. You probably won't have any trouble reaching 50mpg on the way in your truck/hybrid and the Escape gets 42mpg without any problems. It would be close to 50 on long trips.

How Many MPG Does The Ford Maverick Hybrid Get? The EPA reports that the 2026 Ford Maverick Hybrid gets 25 miles per gallon in the city and 31 miles per gallon on the highway.
