What does it do to the environment? Where is it made? The good news is that its durability and fuel economy are improving. The bad news is that they still aren't enough to make it a real contender in the segment.

The 2024 Ford Tundra is available in XL, XLT, and Limited trim levels. The base engine is a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard.

We compared the Tundra to the competition, both on the inside and the outside. The front seats are comfortable, supportive, and have all the features expected of premium-grade vehicles. The driver seat is wide and the passenger seat is long. The seat backs fold to create an open cargo area.

There are three seating configurations: two-plus-two, three-plus-one, or five-plus-two. The three-plus-one configuration is standard, as are the middle-row seats. The Tundra also offers an optional split folding bench seat.

This system raises the tailgate and lowers the back seat to create a two-passenger seating area. With the seats folded, the Tundra has a 66.4 cubic foot of storage space with the seats down and a 62.8 cubic foot of storage with the seats up.

The cargo area includes two tie-downs, one retractable tie-down hook, and a tie-down anchor. The Tundra has five rear doors with individual glass. It's a very easy vehicle to enter and exit, whether it's your small family or a large pickup. The rear door latches don't use a conventional handle or latch mechanism, but rather a button on the side of the door.

There are no buttons to press, no latches to unlatch, and no levers to lift. Instead, all you do is press the button. The door opens, and then, as you close it, it closes itself. The door closes in less than a second and locks in less than a second.

Our Tundra had the option of a single-speed transfer case or a four-speed automatic. We tested the Tundra with the single-speed transfer case.

A tundra is a home that makes use of the earth's northern most point as a wall for heating. This home is made up of large blocks of rock or stones which have been heated to keep residents warm in the northern latitudes of the north. This method was first popularized by the people of Lapland, but today is more commonly used by the people of Canada. A tundra was once quite popular due to its durability, ease of construction, and the fact that it can be customized for specific purposes. But with changes in the world climate the uses of a tundra have changed a little bit. Today a tundra will not be the only method used for warming your home if you live in one of the extreme northern regions of Canada or Alaska. But a tundra will remain the method of choice to heat an igloo, even if the home has a heater in it.

The uses of a tundra as a home. For as long as people have lived in the area north of Canada you can be certain that the coldest spot on the earth has remained the polar cap. As humans spread out across the globe they spread their ideas and methods about how to cope with the freezing cold that is so typical in the area north of Canada. Some people used wooden shacks covered in a thin layer of snow, others built houses where the floor was frozen solid and there were small fireplaces inside to keep occupants warm. In time when the temperature was cold enough for those activities people found they could build homes that heated air instead of relying on natural convection through a space to keep them warm. Eventually these homes evolved into what is now known as a tundra. The homes are built very carefully making use of the rocks that are available nearby. The rooms are constructed so that they cannot be flooded by melting snow. The rocks on the bottom of a home are left exposed to the sub zero temperatures and then heated by fires and sometimes heated by sunlight. When the temperature gets below freezing these rocks are then insulated with a layer of grass to keep them warmer than the surrounding environment. So as you can imagine these homes could take a considerable time and effort to make but were far easier to maintain than any other structure used in the northern latitudes.

Unlike any other model in the lineup, the TRD Pro is a full-on performance model, available only in the most extreme versions of the Tundra and not in the base model.

You can get a fully loaded Tundra with all the equipment, the TRD Pro package, six-speed automatic transmission and tow/haul functions in that price range. In that price range, every item becomes an option.

While were able to find a few issues when we tested the newest generation of the Tundra, which was introduced earlier this year, we think the TRD Pro will be a favorite among Toyota enthusiasts who want a performance-oriented truck. In the future, Toyota should keep a close eye on how its sales performance shakes out against its larger F-series competitor. A big part of the Tundra's success is tied to the popularity of the F-series.

Is Toyota discontinuing the Tundra?

Over the past decade Toyota has been making great strides to make the Tundra a more worthy adversary for trucks. It's fair to say they have really got it right now, giving buyers options such as 44, a 3.5l V6, 3.7l diesel, and a 5.7l V8! But what of the 10l V8? If true, would this be the end of the truck as we know it? Or does the end really lie in a new design?

I am asking you, a reader, what your opinion is regarding the following. Does Toyota really plan on phasing out the V8 (10l) Tundra, and if so, why? Is Toyota planning a major overhaul (or redesign) of the Tundra? Does the new TRD Pro line fit into that picture? Or do you think it is merely a marketing ploy designed to lure buyers away from other models or vehicles that can't compete with Toyota's new SuperTruck line? What are your thoughts? Please, share them in our comment section below! It seems to me the problem was always going to be the big 10l V8 engine not the 6.0l Duratorq one.

Having owned 2.4 tundras and I have to say that for what they were designed for - the power delivery they put out is outstanding, plus there handling is pretty good with the available suspension and steering package. They are a joy to drive no matter which way you want to go. The 4.0l V6 works great too but it doesn't quite come anywhere near pushing down the road like the v8's do and it never could.

With the 4.0l V6 it's the only model to get a decent V8 swap. Even the 2.7l is nice.

THe 2.7 V6 isn't bad in fact it might be underrated but Toyota made a mistake going with a 6 speed automatic. The 6 speed trans was too light weight anf coulda handled 2wd better.

There were a few early Tundra tranny mods done around 2024 that upgraded some of the gears in the transmission, but the best was the "Aero Trans" that added even more gears in the box.

What is the best year Toyota Tundra to buy used?

I know a few people that have this question. What is the best year to buy used Tundra? I have read some that say 2004-2006. Anyone that has actually bought one know what to look for and what they paid? Thanks

You should be able to get a really good deal one of these. They are not really easy to find and they are in high demand by truck buyers.

If you want a good example, take a look at a 2024 4WD 5'3" Tundra. The newer ones are way cheaper than that. Don't ask me why though. If you want one just go look at trucks from that time period in your area. They are usually in showroom floors.

I would say if you want a Tundra then look for one from 2024 to 2024. That should be all that's available with a VIN over 200,000 miles or less. The 2024 and later models are the best of the breed right now IMO. That is why those are the cheapest and sell for the most.

I like 2024, 2024, and 2024 models, but they are getting pretty scarce now.
