2021 Ford Focus RS Could Have a Twin-turbo V6 Engine. We already know that the 2026 Ford Focus RS will likely get a twin-turbo V6 engine from its rival, the Audi RS5. But according to a report from AutoGuide, there is more! According to this report, the new Focus RS could have a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.3-liter EcoBoost V6 used in the ST, which could be paired with the same 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as the RS5. The engine could make a whopping 450 hp or more, with up to 400 lb-ft of torque. If that were the case, the base model would need to move up to the 2.7-liter turbocharged engine to keep the weight balance, with a likely total displacement of 4.2 liters.
New 2026 Ford Focus Could Get Hybrid Engine. While we're not sure if the above engine could come to the U., Ford could still go the hybrid route. That is, of course, if they didn't make the ST more powerful than the previous model. The ST is an ideal platform for hybrid development, with lots of space and lots of power. There are only a few markets where the ST does not have its own twin-turbocharged V6 engine: Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, and Europe. In those markets, the only option is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder hybrid. Of course, the RS will be available in the U. Market, which is a perfect place for a hybrid ST.

It's fresh and it's modern and there's no denying that this Focus is one of the best family cars on the road today. With a range of petrol and diesel engines and a choice of three cabin trim levels, the Focus delivers in so many ways. We've driven the entry-level S and mid-spec SE and were really impressed by how capable it is. In this review we'll take a closer look at the top-spec SE Titanium.
What is it like to drive? This isn't the only way to drive a Ford Focus. The S has some electric steering, the SE has hydraulic power steering, the Titanium has twin-cone, double-wishbone independent front and rear suspension with coil springs and four-piston fixed-position dampers, and all-wheel drive is standard. The SE also gets optional Active Front Assist with front and rear park sensors.
However, the Ford Focus is an inherently engaging car. You can choose the gearbox to suit your driving style and there's a choice of three engines. It's really not the kind of car where you need a manual gearbox.
And yet I find myself wanting one. There's something about the way the Focus drives that appeals to me. I like the way it handles and the engine noise. The handling is superb, too. The steering wheel feels nice and light to move around in, and the pedal feel is also crisp. I also love the way the engine pulls away from a stop.
The main problem is that the gearbox isn't a manual. But it's so good at what it does, I still get an urge to change the ratio from time to time.
To do so, you press the up-down button on the dashboard. It's very easy and intuitive. I also like the two-zone climate control, because it lets you set it to work either the passenger or driver side of the car.
But the thing that really impresses me is the way the Focus feels around corners.
