Is the Ford Focus hatchback a good car?
I don't think so, not when compared to the Toyota Corolla, which is a real car and has been for decades. However, I will give the car its due. It does perform well for the money, and is well priced. That's what it should be in the world of car-buying; affordable and good value for the money. It's always nice when a car does this, though I'm sure that many other manufacturers have cars that do the same thing.
For one reason or another, I haven't kept up with the cars recently, and now I've got one that I'd forgotten about. You see, when I bought it, it was the first time I'd ever had a second-hand car, and the first I'd owned for more than a couple of days, so I knew absolutely nothing about it. I did drive it, and enjoyed it for a while, but eventually had to part company with it. I still have it, though I'm not planning on driving it again. Anyway, I can't find a reason for buying it, so I'll have to use a bit of the ol' imagination and make up some reasons. What follows is my attempt at doing so. It's a fun challenge, so why not?
First Impressions. I'm not much of a car connoisseur, so I'm not going to come out with a detailed breakdown of the chassis, bodywork, suspension, etc. That won't be necessary, as I won't be judging the car against other cars, and I'm sure that the best way to get a good idea of how the car is going to perform is by getting it out and having a proper drive. I could be very wrong, of course, but if I am, you'll be the first to know.
So, right then, I have a box of a car, a very rusty box at that. There are some rust spots on the roof that are still quite obvious, and the bonnet is a little rusty too. If I can see rust on the roof, then what about the other bodywork? To my knowledge, there is no rust anywhere else on the car, but there is a lot of oxidation.
