Can you buy a Scania in the USA?

scania ab Can you buy a Scania in the USA?

I'm planning to buy a Scania T6100U truck/semi with a UFS trailer for an offroad trip in the winter. Unfortunately, in my region, Scania's are only available as rental trucks, and the nearest place I can buy one would be in California (more than a 5 hour drive from where I live).

Is it even possible to buy a Scania? I could buy it without tax, if it's a bit pricey, but do you know of any place that does it without sales tax? My thoughts on buying the truck in California without tax is if your shipping the truck in and the trailer out as a single unit, I don't see why they wouldn't have to charge the purchase price plus sales tax when you ship the truck from California to Minnesota (assuming Minnesota is in the "no tax" box). They are in some states that have no tax either way, but I don't know how they handle it. In any case, it seems to me that this truck, which is only used for towing, may not be a big money maker for Scania. Maybe in Arizona or another small state with good weather, it might be, but not in Minnesota.

I'm sure you know that there is a huge difference between a company that is willing to take a risk, and a company that is committed to taking risks. The fact that the company appears to want to take a risk, should raise serious questions about the willingness of management to take risks, the quality of their financial projections, and the ability of the company to make their promised returns.

There are so many things wrong with this story, it is hard to know where to begin. First: I have no idea where the guy lives. As we speak, there is not a Scania dealership within 100 miles of him. Why should he travel nearly 1000 miles and then pay sales tax on the cost of a Scania truck/semi.e. The truck will be delivered anywhere in the United States from a Scania dealership. The point is.he is buying it with an intent to resell it, hence paying sales tax.

Now, Scania is certainly a company that appears to be taking a risk on this truck. Yet, what has driven Scania into a financial hole is their failure to understand that the US is a large enough market for them to sell their product.

Why are Scania trucks not sold in the US?

Scania makes trucks as well as cars, with the truck range ranging from 7.5 tons and up. Scania Trucks are sold in Australia, the Middle East, Africa, South America, Europe, Asia and New Zealand. However, Scania Trucks are not sold in North America.

Scania trucks are built in Sweden, where they are built to the highest standards. These trucks have their own unique look as well as handling, ride and fuel efficiency, but also weigh up to 15,000 pounds compared to 13,500 for equivalent American or European trucks.

Scania Trucks are available in different models. Some of these models are: S8: 10 tons. S13: 8.4 tons S16: 6.8 tons The S8 was one of the first trucks manufactured by Scania. It has its own unique style and performance features, making it popular throughout the world. It is the most common model in the Scania truck lineup. It is available in both four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive.

One of the more popular features on the S8 is its long-hood hood. The hood features a distinctive look and also aids aerodynamic performance. There is no roof rack on the long-hood model. However, there are options for racks that can be attached to the top of the hood. The S8 can also be equipped with rear winch kits and cargo management systems.

The S13 is slightly smaller than the S8. The S13 offers two-wheel drive options only. This model is most popular for hauling. Although the weight limit for the S13 is 13,500 pounds, it can be up to 14,000 pounds with some modifications.

The S16 weighs around 6,800 pounds. This model is the smallest of all Scania trucks. It is mainly used for jobsite applications.

All Scania trucks are equipped with double ball joints. This adds to their overall stability and performance. The axles are equipped with double radius bushings. This helps minimize the amount of noise created as well as the overall performance of the trucks. All this adds to the Scania trucks' comfort and safety.

In North America, truck maintenance and service departments are scarce, which often leads to a breakdown occurring out of nowhere. The only truck repair centers in North America are located in Texas and Michigan.
