I think that is a good idea. They can add a couple of little things on top of the Ramcharger to make it even more useful, such as a USB charger and maybe a screen. It would be an ideal charger for the iPhone and you could just charge your phone without plugging it in.

It would be awesome to see a Ramcharger or even a Ramcharger 2. I think I read in some article that the battery for the Charge & Go would have a small battery that charges up the Ramcharger. So that when you're done with the Ramcharger you can simply swap out the Ramcharger battery and use the charger for the battery inside the phone.

Yeah, I think that's what I read too. If that's the case, then it wouldn't really need to be a separate device.

The difference between the 1500 (non-hwy rated) and the 2500 is not substantial. Both will do pretty much everything for you. What I would ask is how many miles will you put on the new engine and does it have a warranty? The 1500 will also last longer because of it's 1 year/10k mile powertrain warranty vs 3 years/100k mile with the 2500.

I would start looking at the 2500 with factory options on it and just go from there. You can get some good deals on used trucks when you know what you want so try not to go too far off the map with the options.

You can also go with the Ramcharger to save money, but keep in mind the engine warranty doesn't cover the body, so if you blow a transmission, etc you may be out of luck. I really like these Ramchargers for the extra power and low gas mileage. I am doing the same thing in my old 2025 4.7l tranny that is going into my 2025 5.It will have all the power and range of the 1500 trucks.I will most likely do a complete conversion with a full set of parts.and hopefully a rebuilt tranny, but it won't be cheap.

Thanks for the info. I was leaning towards getting the 2500 if I could get it on par with the 1500 or almost at it. It is definitely the power. I have driven many trucks before and that power is one thing that really makes me feel at home.
