Motorist found without licence for 40 years
The man, who was pulled over by police officers during a routine check, admitted that he has gone 40 years without a driving licence. Accordingly, he is now facing prosecution, and the authorities state that they have no actual record of him passing a driving test at all.
In a tweet by the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) it was stated that the man's car was seized for having no insurance, and that is when they found out that the driver had been on the roads for 40 years without a proper license. Driving without a licence appropriate for the vehicle you are driving can result in a fine of £1,000. Also, depending on the severity of the offence, you may also be banned from driving for a number of years, and in rare circumstances for life.
The West Midland Police commented: "He has committed a criminal offence, and the matter will proceed to the courts."
