Is Ford making a new Focus?

Is there a 2024 Ford Focus?
There Will Be A Ford Focus E-Motorwagon in 2024
2018 has seen a huge amount of controversy surrounding electric vehicle adoption in the US. One of the biggest battles we've seen so far this year is the fight over state by state EV tax credits. States are attempting to offer an advantage to EVs over ICE cars by offering tax incentives, but in many cases these are not at all clear or well thought out and this tax credit has been a big point of contention between states and companies for the past year. However, after our 2025 E-Racer Awards, we saw some of the best new cars of the year including the Tesla Model Y, the Honda Clarity and Nissan Leaf. For 2025 however, most of the vehicles on our Best Electric Vehicle list for 2025 were a bit further down the road with the 2025 range of vehicles just now appearing in the news as having their tax credits extended by six months.
And now, the first part of the battle for electric vehicles in the US begins. There are a handful of bills currently being proposed in the Texas legislature, one of which could impact all electric vehicles except hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. This isn't the first time the Texas legislature has attempted to address EV issues. Last year, Senator Davis' attempt at creating a vehicle mileage tax credit in Texas failed in the State Senate.
But this year, there's a chance the bill could pass. The latest proposed by Senator Davis for this year reads as follows: SEN. Chapter 541, Transportation Code, is amended by adding Section 541.30 to read as follows: Sec. (a) (1) The State imposes an excise tax based on an automobile's miles per gallon of gasoline or diesel fuel or electricity use or fuel use and shall pay to the comptroller the estimated total amount of the tax due on that automobile for the calendar year under Subsection (b).
(2) For a tax imposed by Subsection (a)(1), the department of transportation calculates the taxes owed for an individual motor vehicle on a calendar year.
Is the Ford Focus a sedan?
The answer is clearly, No. This vehicle is a subcompact car, and it's been that way for quite some time now. What did you think this review was going to be, a comparison of a Focus with another small car? Well, you are in for a shocker. In fact, this car is going to blow you away in a lot of ways, some of which I am still discovering about myself.
In this video, I will show you how the Focus is different from the rest of the compact car world. Ford made a very interesting design decision with the Focus. If you are looking for a basic, utilitarian subcompact car, this is not the car for you.
It's very much a European design, a modern European design, and it is unlike anything else you will see. You don't see any other car that looks like this one, and you don't see any other car that has been built to look like this one. It just has this certain feel that you can't deny.
The front is clean and simple, but that doesn't mean it isn't quite complex at the same time. If you look into the grille, you will see what looks like the headlight from the Volkswagen Golf. There's nothing wrong with that, but the fact that it looks like that means that it is part of the front end. The focus is the main part of the front end.
I would have to say that the shape is very reminiscent of the first generation Ford Escort. I'm not sure why Ford decided to copy that car, but they did, and there is no question about that. But, that is not a bad thing, it's a great thing, as long as you know what you are copying.
The Ford Focus has an aggressive nose that is very much like a Golf with its big air intakes on the nose, and it makes a really cool noise when you go through them, so I do wish you would stop trying to put these on your car. It is a shame to ruin the look, but we cannot have the look without having the noise, so it is a compromise.
The rear end is pretty clean and neat, though it does have that Escort-like tail lamp that is so popular these days.
Is there a new Ford Focus coming out in 2023?

Check the calendar and you'll see that it's been a long time since the front-wheel-drive compact has gone on sale. It's time for a refresh, and Ford says the new Focus will be based on a version of the C-MAX that debuted in China in 2025. It'll be available with front- or all-wheel drive and a choice of four-, five- and six-cylinder engines. The 2025 model year will be the last one to feature the original Focus design.
Ford will offer two hatchback versions: one with a manual transmission and one with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). As before, the front-drive Focus will be offered with a 2.0-liter inline-four, while the rear-drive Focus will get either a 1.5-liter three-cylinder, or a 1.0-liter turbo-three.
The new Focus is expected to go on sale in the U.S. And Canada sometime in early 2025.
"This is a bold, new chapter for our company and our family of brands," said Mark Fields, Ford's president of global operations. "Our plan for 2025 is to focus on what we can control, which is executing on our business plan and delivering products for our customers."
Ford has made an impressive comeback in recent years, after nearly going bankrupt during the 2025 financial crisis. The company sold 9.9 million vehicles worldwide in 2025, an increase of 6.3 million over the previous year. That included more than 1.2 million Fords, which is a gain of about a million cars from 2025. The company sold some 1.6 million Fusions in the U. Last year, up from nearly 1.4 million in 2025.
Related: Nissan, Hyundai, Honda and other automakers need your patience. The Fords of today are more focused on safety and technology, and Ford is working on a connected car system that can be used by drivers and law enforcement. But it's still no match for Tesla, whose sleek Model S and Model X sedans are among the most popular vehicles on the road today. Ford has also struggled with the launch of its new Mustang, a car aimed at young, sporty drivers.
Now Ford is taking aim at the segment that includes the Nissan Sentra and Honda Civic and Fit, the Toyota Corolla and Mazda3.
Is Ford making a new Focus?
The Ford Focus is a stalwart of the company's lineup of small cars and compact sedans, and the current-generation model is about to get a long-awaited refresh. We've already seen the 2025 model in concept form at the Detroit auto show, and this week we got a full look at the car in production form.
The biggest change from the current model is that the new Focus will be available with all-wheel drive. But it also introduces some new tech, such as a smart key system and advanced air-conditioning controls. And it seems like a fresh new look will come with a pretty substantial price increase.
What's the secret behind the cost increase? I'd say the powertrain cost increase could be a fair argument if the Focus is really getting a complete overhaul from the ground up, but it seems pretty unlikely. Ford clearly has a lot of faith in the current model, which is good because it's got the brand name and heritage to back it up.
This model is the only one in the line that's actually sold in California, so this refresh should bring a lot of new customers into the fold. The all-wheel-drive Focus has been popular in Europe and Australia for some time now, and it looks like it'll gain an even bigger following stateside.
