If you're going to tell him to pick a Subaru, you'd have to compare the numbers with other Subarus. The Impreza, Legacy, Outback, Forester, and Crosstrek are all models on sale right now that all get at least 26 mpg with a manual transmission (25 mpg is possible if you drive aggressively). I've got a 2025 Santa Cruz, and I'm having issues with the front forks. One of them rattles for no reason, and I can't get it to replace the seals and air valves (new seals and air valves aren't available). Any other options?

I'm only 5'4", so I don't think it'd be a problem. But on those short bikes it might cause it to wobble too much. I don't know what they look like, but most bikes sold in the US have the fork mounted on a different part of the frame.

What part of the country are you in? The parts will be easier to come by in some areas than others. If the bike is still under warranty, I'd definitely contact the dealership and see if they have any leads for you. If not, you could try some of the local shops (if you're in a big city, there should be plenty) or maybe even hit up Amazon for some replacement parts.

I'd guess that there's going to be a few more people interested in getting an off-road bike before any sort of mountain bike. I didn't mean to imply that it'll be a popular seller by any means, just that a lot of people might be interested in one.
