I was hesitant on trying it because I knew the beach was close to the town and that I didn't want to have to drive for too long. Thankfully I did some research, found some great places to eat, and decided to give Santa Cruz a shot.

Santa Cruz is a town of about 70,000 people. It has a laid back feeling to it, with beautiful views of the ocean, green hills, and a very relaxed town atmosphere. This was definitely my favorite part of the trip, but it definitely took some getting used to.

One thing I really loved was how friendly everyone was! I wasn't expecting this, since I know how many complaints people have about rude people in touristy areas. Not in Santa Cruz though, everyone was super nice and accommodating.

The town itself is not very big, but is pretty spread out. This also helped me find some great food spots in the downtown area.

So first off, let's start with the good: The view was gorgeous! I had some great views from the top of the town. The view from the train station was pretty nice, and the train ride up was worth it, even if it wasn't as fun as I'd like.

Next up, the worst: There's a lot of beach near the town, but there's also a lot of cars and construction. Most people don't want to be there, so the street has a lot of traffic. There's also a lot of people selling items along the street and right by the beach.
