It's a question of personal preference, but I had to ask. The truck, first introduced in 1989, has been a staple in the automotive industry, and now is also a popular work vehicle.

If you've never owned one, you may not know that it's still quite affordable today. I spent a week with an E-Max to find out what it's like to own one. Here's what I learned.

It's not bad. If you're looking for a truck, the Isuzu D-Max is probably a good choice. Its basic exterior looks have remained intact over time. The D-Max has never changed its appearance since 1989, and that's a great thing. It's very utilitarian, even with its soft top (which rolls up to reveal a metal cargo bed).

The front fascia of the D-Max makes a very slight U-turn compared to trucks of the past. It's a little wider, and has more of a retro look, though I prefer the old-school look of older trucks. The D-Max has also changed its engine. In the past, it was a 4.5-liter V6. Today, it's a 5.0-liter V8.

Isuzu D-Max 2024 Chevrolet. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It's a reliable and fuel-efficient engine, and the 6.3L V8 provides plenty of power for getting through traffic. The gas mileage can vary depending on driving habits and the climate, but highway driving with the top down will get you an average of 26 mpg.

It has nice, comfortable seats that are supportive. The steering wheel feels firm, but is also light on the hands. I wasn't too impressed with the seats on my test vehicle, but then I'm an odd person.

For long trips, I was able to fit three adults in the D-Max comfortably, and they didn't feel uncomfortable. The bed is also comfortable, and the space is generous.

Today I did a little more research to get some more info about what kind of engine is in the D-Max and also the cost of the engine. A bit of the history of the D-Max and a link for the pictures.

Before I do that, here is a video that shows the interior of the 2024 Isuzu D-Max with pictures of the instrument panel. I posted this because I wanted you to see that it looks great and I was right in my original article that the interior has a very nice look and quality.
