However, you have to remember that the Titanium version is only available as a four-door saloon and so if you want a station wagon, estate or coupe you'll need to go the step up, or buy a five-door Focus. On the road. The ride is quite impressive. The Focus Titanium feels solid and the steering is surprisingly light, even for such a large car. A light touch gives the driver plenty of confidence when they're out on the road.

With an adjustable suspension system which offers four different settings, it's easy to find the perfect setting for your driving style, and the ride is so comfortable that it's very easy to forget you're actually driving. However, while driving isn't bad, it is the engine that you'll hear the most. There are three engine options available in the Ford Focus Titanium, a petrol 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, the more powerful 2.0-litre petrol and the diesel 1.6-litre, which produces 99bhp and 132lb ft of torque.

We've just driven both variants and here's what we think of them. The Ford Focus Titanium is the best-looking Focus in the range, from the standard exterior styling, to the eye-catching rear-end and the satin-finish interior. It's also a very well-appointed car, with a classy, well-finished interior, easy-to-use infotainment system and a spacious cabin.

However, it's the dynamic engine that stands out, as it's also the most powerful and the most economical, with a claimed 0-62mph time of 7.1 seconds and up to 93mpg on the combined cycle.

What's more, the Ford Focus Titanium is probably the best-handling of the Focus models. It's nimble and agile, even when you're driving slowly. And with the help of the new Active Steering and Active Damping systems, you'll never notice any body roll or body sway in the Focus Titanium.

The ride is comfort-oriented, so the car doesn't feel too sporty or lively. But if you want a sporty car, then you'll probably want to go for the Golf GTI or the Focus ST.

What's it like inside? Inside, the Focus Titanium is better-finished than most of its rivals, with a nice, stylish dash and attractive, comfortable seats. It's also a well-equipped car with the optional touch-screen infotainment system, Bluetooth and a dual-zone climate control system.

The interior isn't a match for the Jaguar XE or the Audi A4 though, as the leather-trimmed seats are a little flat and the rear-view mirror is placed on the left-hand side of the windscreen. There's a lot of space in the front of the cabin, but the rear is tight, especially with the seats down.
